AND THE VALUE OF SPIRITUALITY

Institute, Baguio City)

Session Objectives
At the end of the session, the participants are able to:
1. Know the background information of VRP;
2. Identify the goals of the Values Restoration
Program and its importance in nation-building;
3. Enumerate the prevailing 10 National Illnesses in the
country; and
4. Define and determine the significance of the value of
spirituality in nation building.

VRP-preamble
We, the sovereign Filipino people, aims to restore and
strengthen Filipino values and ideals grounded on:
Patriotism through Selfless Love, Respect and
Service to People;
Integrity through Truthfulness, Stewardship,
Accountability and Sanctity of Marriage;
Excellence through Professionalism; and
Spirituality through God-centeredness and the Love
of God.

Filipinos are known to be religious but being religious does not
necessarily mean giving God His rightful place in our lives, in
our families and in our nation.
More than the form of religion, there must be an evident
manifestation of us being a true Godly nation.

Strengthening our spirituality is the way by which we can
change our hearts and thought patterns.
When our heart is changed, everything changes –
thought pattern, attitude, priorities, character or
behavior, and even in conversation or
communication.
