2. Governmental Fund
ET has been selected on January 2008 by Information Technology Industry
Development Agency (ITIDA) http://www.itida.gov.eg for funding its product development
project “Web-based Management System for Power Meters’ Measurements”
ITEA2 Initiative
Egypt has been participating in the Information Technology for European Advancement (ITEA2)
program through the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) since
round 4 held in 2009.
Green SiSSoftware Intensive System (Round 4 till FPP)
Edge Technology was involved in a big consortium that represents an excellent mix
of industry, SMEs and research partners in both Egypt and EU. Edge Technology was
selected to be the focal point in Egypt to lead the local consortium for this project. The goal
of the Green SiS project is to make novel contribution to building greener future by
developing software intensive systems that make direct impact to non-software products to
become greener. Additionally, Green SiS also addresses the issue of reducing ICT’s carbon
footprints, which is also increasing rapidly. More specifically, our role in Green-SiS to look
into issues relating energy efficient products to develop more software-based efficiency into
utility products and smart grids. The project has not been labeled at the final stage (FPP) due
to its wide scope and financial issues with some participant countries.

3. DS Smart Grid (Round 5 writing PO)
Edge Technology is currently participating in this project and PO has been submitted.
The DS Smart Grid is presenting a complete pilot for a Decision Support system for next
generation Smart Grids. This DSS will mainly focus on energy efficiency by the utmost
utilization of energy generated by multiple sources, preferably renewable and green and the
optimization of the consumption as a function of the offer.

4. Current Products
1. Automatic Meter ManagementAMM, (Client: Ministry of Water
and Electricity MoWE, Riyadh, KSA)
 Automatic Meter Management (AMM) for process monitoring, control and
industrial automation in industry market is our novel product. The system will be of
great benefit to any Energy Management-based projects like the one with the Saudi
MoWE. Over the past decades efforts had been contributed greatly to improve the
productivity of virtually all manufacturing industries throughout the world.
Protection of high investment in machinery is crucial in the industrial market where
down-time is expensive. Energy management solution empowers industrial market
with a close eye on their machinery investment to monitor their performance
continuously and prevent unpredicted failures.
 With its bidirectional real-time readings, AMM enables the clients to clearly and
closely monitor the power needs of the different facilities and hence be able to
pinpoint losses in the network, if any. Also the system gives the client the ability to
pinpoint the machines/loads that consume high power and suggest ways to reduce
energy consumption.
 The ease of use and presentation of readings in meter like forms makes it easy to
train the technicians at the different facilities. It also encourages them to use it.
Regional statistics and loads can easily calculate and viewed in 2D or 3D

5. 2. Lighting Control SystemLCS, (Clients: Al-Ahram Advertising
Agency, Cairo, Egypt,  Giza Governorate, Giza, Egypt  Riyadh
governorate, Riyadh, KSA)
 Energy for the street lighting is one of biggest sources of energy usage. The
maintenance and management of the street lighting is another major source of
expenses. The objective is to design a system to control the street lighting remotely
to reduce the expenses and save the energy.
 A web-based system that controls and manages the street lighting remotely
employing the most up-to-date wireless technology.
 System features include: wireless technology, web-interface with multiple users
access, on-off/dimming control, different add-ons (motion detector, temperature
sensor, horn, etc…), electricity measurements (current/voltage) and user
customized logs and reports.
 Business benefits include: remote monitoring, site visits are reduced to minimum
for urgent maintenance, automatic alerts are sent by email, SMS for electricity
down-time, illegal access to power units, etc… and customer satisfaction.
3. Fleet Management SystemFMS, (Client: Saptco, Riyadh, KSA)
 FMS is a web-based integrated solution exploits the state-of the-art wireless
communication systems to provide the fleet managers with real time data; and
management with detailed reports on fleet activities all from the comfort of PC,
laptop, PDA, or cell phones through web-enabled features and with seamless
integration with Google Maps.

6. 4. Live Advertising SolutionsLAS, (Client: ProMedia, Cairo, Egypt)
 The LAS employs the IP technology to empower organizations to communicate with
their clients as simple as a mouse click.
The LAS features include: Flexibility and scalability, Multi monochromatic colors,
Multi-lines, Visual Effects, Centralized Database, Remote update, Multi-language,
Different text size, Update all at once.
5. Event Management SystemEMS (Client: Emeco Travel, Cairo,
Egypt)
 A web based integrated solution that manages the conferences and exhibitions
complete process.
 Features include: Exhibitors and Delegates Reservations, Visitors Registration,
Exhibitors and Delegates Accommodation, Exhibitors and Delegates Pre & Post
Tours, Complete built-in Accounts Receivables and Payables, Built-in Clients and
Visitors Database, Built-in Suppliers Database and Built-in Mass Mailing System.
6. E-Payment Management System (Client: Emeco Travel, Cairo,
Egypt)
 A secure, dynamic and easy to use E-payment solution that can be integrated with
any back office system with built in reporting module and Multi (company,
department, branch and currency) capabilities and very flexible product definition.
 E-payment solution can be used by Tourism agencies, Conference and Exhibition
organizers and Hotels.
