Moving from a Sharing Economy to a Shared EconomyChelsea Rustrum
The sharing economy is great, but how do we integrate sharing into the very fabric of business? How can we build communities that are also companies? How can we distribute value in the form of ownership and governance to users, members, providers, participants, etc.? Using new age finance models, business structures, and current thinking, we can create hybrids that do just that!
We have assembled a variety of interesting articles, updates, and reading materials
from our NSF Steering Group members and other colleagues that focus on the October newsletter
themes: digital economy and youth engagement/empowerment, leadership/emerging leaders, global
health/harmonious/emerging leaders in Africa, blending digital economy with caring economy, and
continuing to build skills for leading complex change/supporting leaders involved in complex change.
Redefining Value, Ownership, and Exchange with the Sharing EconomyChelsea Rustrum
In an age of sharing, increasing efficiency, and access over ownership, we’re in a new era where business is being restructured from the inside out, fueled by technology and a cultural shift toward decentralized models. The way that people interact and transact is changing. While the new sharing economy is currently being built on top of old models, there are ways that we can align incentives with value, creating more egalitarian structures. I will talk about a few of the ways I see this happening and talk about my research on the ground with the practical side of understanding the providers and participants in the sharing economy through writing It’s a Shareable Life.

Curiosity and the explorer`s mindset, key to discover the great challenges Boards face when building trust in this data-driven, digital world. How do you foster innovation in your own networks?
The Rainforest is a groundbreaking new book from two of the world’s leading experts at the intersection of venture capital and global development. Victor W. Hwang and Greg Horowitt propose a radical new theory to explain the nature of innovation ecosystems -- human networks that generate extraordinary creativity and economic output. They argue that free market thinking fails to consider the impact of human nature on the innovation process. This ambitious work challenges basic assumptions that economists have held for over a century.
Kirkus Revews: "insightful, forward-thinking..." "provocative..." "Hwang and Horowitt write with authority and wit, carefully backing up their theory with substantive examples. Readers get the feeling that the authors have unveiled a very big, important concept, one that could serve as the basis for intentionally, methodically developing other “rainforests” similar to Silicon Valley."

Experience Design and your Customer's JourneyChris Heuer
The time has come for experience design now! More importantly, experience designed with purpose increases value creation exponentially. In this presentation, delivered on 19NOV2015 at #EEC15 in Bilbao Spain, Chris Heuer shares his story to discovering empathy, why he sees the current era of conscious capitalism as the biggest opportunity of our lifetimes and tools you can use to support such a radically customer centric strategy.
For too long we have accepted the market structure that exists without questioning it. I contend that by focusing on creating value by serving the market, instead of merely focusing on profits, society as a whole will be much better off and in fact, companies are likely to be more profitable as a result.

Talking about social media getting real, delivering ROI and what that ROI means, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Money is a stored form of energy, so why not bring thermodynamics into this too....
This is a great outline of a deeper story, in fact, it might just be a chapter in my book. Wish I had more time to talk to all of it here in Stockholm, but am so thankful for the opportunity to focus on answering these key questions and getting this outline done. More information on this will be appearing on http://servethemarket.com/ in a month.
This is an update to my Social Media Principles presentation delivered at Social Media Club Workshop in Birmingham on April 27, 2009. In short, I believe that having the right attitude is essential to success in social media. What are those principles and why is it important for social media.

What is Social Media? This presentation is not the answer, but the basis for our discussion at PodCamp Hawaii on this important topic. The slides are meant to help guide the discussion. The majority of the conversation will be spent investigating what I believe are the key principles of Social Media necessary for success. The Social Media Principles are from a chapter in my upcoming book and will be released shortly as an ebook and blog posts.
The biggest challenge for traditional marketers in leveraging social media is that they apply the old ways of thinking to this new medium. In Conversations Aren't Marketing, we discuss some of the macro trends and strategies that are needed to be successful. This probably won't make much sense without hearing the telling of it, but I was asked to share this by someone attending the Search Insider Summit where I gave this short presentation this morning, so here it is...
This is another variation of my work around the Social Media Playbook, a step forward in my book writing process. It needs some work still to make it prettier and tell the story, but I delivered it to the Social Media Club Workshop in Austin on November 6, 2007.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

6. Ecosystem Thinking
Co-creating shared value for the world by empathetically
approaching all stakeholder relationships with positive
intentions that go beyond concern for the transaction.
7. Ecosystem: Traditional Definition
“The word was coined in the 1930s by British botanist Arthur Tansley to
refer to a localized community of living organisms interacting with each
other and their particular environment of air, water, mineral soil, and other
elements. These organisms influence each other, and their terrain;
they compete and collaborate, share and create resources, and coevolve;
and they are inevitably subject to external disruptions, to which they adapt
together.”
— Business Ecosystems Come of Age. Deloitte University Press, 2015
8. Ecosystem: Modern Business Definition
“Successful businesses are those that evolve rapidly and effectively. Yet
innovative businesses can't evolve in a vacuum. They must attract
resources of all sorts, drawing in capital, partners, suppliers, and
customers to create cooperative networks. . . . I suggest that a company
be viewed not as a member of a single industry but as part of a business
ecosystem that crosses a variety of industries. In a business ecosystem,
companies co-evolve capabilities around a new innovation: They work
cooperatively and competitively to support new products, satisfy
customer needs, and eventually incorporate the next round of innovations.”
— James Moore - 1993 Harvard Business Review article
