EcoFashion
Saving the Environment. That's What We Do.
Problem
The fashion industry is the second most polluting business in the world. This is because of fast fashion where many
resources are being used only for a shorter period. Moreover, most clothes are made unethically using harmful chemicals
in waterways. Nearly all of them are not local businesses, which do not provide a way to be well driven in their
community. There is also a vast amount of emissions used to export them globally.
Solution
"EcoFashion” would be an advanced project idea that recycles, reuses, and reduces all discarded fabric where none end
up in landfills. This is done by putting recycling banks near places people frequently visit. It would then be gathered to be
refurbished locally. Textile that can not be recycled are transformed into clothes or rags. The ones that have potential
would be placed as different categories: men, women, and children's clothing.
Market
Educating individuals at schools about this issue is an inclusive way to inform others at a young age to be sustainable in
the long run. Textile recycling is not a new proposal for our society. Nevertheless, this service is uncommon in Utah and
many parts of the U.S. Recycling, in general, is inconvenient for others to self-transport such items to distant industrial
places and citizens would also have to pay for this service. Thrift stores only take certain donations; first handed clothing
stores recycle clothes, although, it would be shipped only in limited and/or distant locations which won’t compensate a
vast carbon footprint.
