ADB : Asian Development Bank
 The Asian Development Bank ( ADB ) is a regional
development bank established in the year 1966.
 Primary Aim : The Asian Development Bank aims for
fighting the poverty in Asia and the Pacific.
 ADB invests in infrastructure, health, public
administration system, helping nations to reduce the
impact of climate change and to manage natural
resources.
ADB : Asian Development Bank
 The bank admits the members of the United Nations
Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific
and non- regional developed countries.
 From 31 members at its establishment , ADB now has 68
members including 49 from the Asia and Pacific region.
 Japan holds the largest share in ADB with 15.677%
followed by U.S.A ( 15.567 %) , China ( 6.473% ) and India (
5.812% ).
Policies and Strategies
 Strategy 2030
 Strategy 2030 sets the course for ADB’s efforts to respond
effectively to the Asia and Pacific region’s changing needs.
Under strategy 2030 , ADB will expand its vision to achieve
a prosperous , inclusive , resilient and sustainable Asia and
Pacific while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme
poverty.
