Applied economics is the application of core theoretical economics and econometrics to answer questions in a wide range of fields. The Applied Economics Program prepares students for employment opportunities in the public and private sector and for further graduate study. This rigorous but flexible program includes core coursework in economic theory and quantitative methods and offers opportunities for specialized coursework and research fields. This is a course for non-economists. Students will learn the conceptual-empirical basis of economic reasoning and the quantitative methods essential to address important policy problems and debates of our day such as climate change and inequality. It can be viewed as an introduction to the distinctive way economists think and analyses problems. In this course, we encourage students to learn economics by doing economics. A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
