This document discusses post and core procedures for endodontically treated teeth. It covers objectives, indications, considerations for post length, diameter and design. Ideal post length is 1-2 mm shorter than the root and diameter should allow at least 1 mm of dentin surrounding the post. A ferrule is important to improve structural integrity. Post types discussed include custom cast metal posts, prefabricated metal posts like stainless steel and titanium, and non-metal options like carbon fiber, fiber-reinforced and zirconia posts. Fiber posts are more esthetic and flexible but have less strength than metal or zirconia posts. Proper diagnosis and treatment planning is required to select the best post and core for
The document discusses sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) as a root canal irrigant. It notes that NaOCl is the most commonly used irrigant due to its strong antibacterial properties and ability to dissolve organic tissue. The document reviews the ideal properties of an irrigant, the history of NaOCl use in endodontics since the 1920s, its mechanisms of action, and studies evaluating its efficacy.
All on four implants are the most sophisticated way of replacing the teeth.Traditionally, the procedure had been performed in two steps. The dentist began by installing the implants, which were left for three to six months to heal and integrate with the jawbone. The permanent teeth were fitted in the next stage. During the healing period the patient was given a temporary denture that has been shown to be a potential cause for bone loss around the implants, thus avoiding a loose temporary denture with an immediate fixed bridge as with All-On-4 Plus® is a step towards a better outcome.
Thank you for the presentation. I found it very informative regarding the principles of designing removable partial dentures for patients with defects of the maxilla and mandible.

Orthodontic alignment phase of pre-adjusted fixed appliance ...Maher Fouda
1. The document discusses the orthodontic alignment phase when using pre-adjusted fixed appliances. It begins by describing how the original edgewise appliance required wire bending to position each tooth, whereas pre-adjusted brackets incorporate each tooth's final position.
2. It then explains how pre-adjusted brackets achieve three-dimensional control of each tooth's position by varying bracket base thickness, slot angulation, and base contour. Various archwire sequences and techniques used during initial alignment are also described.
3. The summary concludes by noting that efficient initial alignment is important for simplifying future treatment and is typically achieved using light nickel-titanium or steel wires until adequate alignment is reached.
There are three levels of orthodontic care: preventive, limited, and comprehensive. Preventive orthodontics aims to correct non-skeletal problems without tooth movement and includes space maintainers and extracting extra teeth. Limited orthodontics involves aligning no more than four teeth per arch using removable appliances or banding up to six teeth, such as for anterior crossbite correction. Comprehensive orthodontics is for skeletal correction and banding more than six teeth per arch, including the use of full fixed appliances, headgear, and surgery.
This document discusses the importance of recording jaw relations when fabricating removable partial dentures (RPDs). There are several methods for recording jaw relations, including direct apposition of casts, interocclusal records with posterior teeth remaining, and using occlusion rims. Centric relation should be recorded for distal extension RPDs or when the opposing arch is edentulous, while centric occlusion is preferred when natural teeth can guide the mandible. Proper jaw relation and occlusion are necessary to distribute forces optimally and prevent damage to teeth or bone.
The document discusses various medical conditions that may impact complete denture fabrication for older patients. It notes that older patients often have normal age-related changes as well as chronic diseases and medications that can affect denture treatment. Conditions discussed in more detail include osteoporosis, oral movement disorders, microstomia, mucosal lesions, salivary dysfunction, arthritis, nutrition issues, diabetes, and burning mouth syndrome. The document provides guidance on modifications that may be needed for denture fabrication and postoperative care for patients with these various medical conditions.
This document provides information on dental implants including definitions, history, indications, contraindications, examination process, surgical procedure and classifications. It defines dental implantation as anchoring alloplastic materials into the jaws to replace missing teeth. Key points discussed include the importance of thorough training, patient selection, radiographic examination and ensuring proper bone availability, width and height for successful implantation. The surgical procedure and healing process are also summarized.

This document provides information on orthodontic wires. It begins with a brief history of orthodontic wire materials, including precious metals used in the late 19th century, stainless steel in the early 20th century, and cobalt-chromium and titanium alloys developed in the 1950s-1980s. The document then discusses the requirements and properties of ideal archwires. It provides details on various orthodontic wire materials, including stainless steel, cobalt-chromium alloys, high-tensile Australian wires, nickel-titanium alloys, and beta titanium. Characteristics such as strength, stiffness, springback and biocompatibility are compared for different wire types.

Provisional restorative options in implantThirumal Rao
This document discusses provisional restorations in implant dentistry. It begins with definitions of provisional restorations and discusses their functions. Provisional restorations are temporary restorations used to enhance aesthetics and function for a limited period of time until a definitive prosthesis can be placed. They can be used as diagnostic tools, to guide soft tissue healing, and to allow patients to visualize the final result. The document then discusses various types of provisional restorations, requirements, fabrication techniques, uses at different treatment stages, and examples of provisional restorations for different clinical scenarios.
The document discusses a new paradigm in nickel-titanium (NiTi) instrumentation called the Self-Adjusting File (SAF) system. The SAF represents an improvement over traditional rotary NiTi files by adapting to the three-dimensional anatomy of the root canal, continuously irrigating during instrumentation, and requiring only a single file per canal. Studies have shown the SAF more effectively cleans and shapes canals while preventing issues like canal transportation compared to traditional rotary files. The simple SAF procedure and ability to respect root canal anatomy may provide more effective and higher quality root canal treatments.

This document provides guidance on managing avulsed permanent anterior teeth in children. It discusses evaluating the injury, immediately replanting or storing the tooth, performing root canals as needed, splinting the tooth, and following up over time. The goal is to replant the tooth promptly and monitor for signs of infection or need for additional treatment like apexification to encourage healing and prevent loss of the tooth. Immediate management and follow up care are important for the best prognosis of a replanted tooth.
This document provides an overview of temporary anchorage devices (TADs) used in orthodontics. It discusses the history and development of TADs, the parts and classifications of implants, placement considerations, and basic mechanics. TADs offer reliable orthodontic anchorage without needing patient compliance compared to extraoral devices. The document outlines different TAD designs, materials, locations for placement, and their indications and contraindications. While TADs overcome limitations of conventional anchorage, they still present biomechanical limitations such as rotational tendency and restricted tooth movement near the implant.

12 tic insert liners double the service lifeFernando Zhang
Why is TIC Liner more wearable?
A. The structure and properties of the matrix of the parts have changed. We have increased the content of Mn, Mo, and rare earth.
Therefore, the metallographic grain size of Hadfield steel is refined and the strength is enhanced.
B. The hardness of TIC Insert exceeds HRC60, and the hardness is about 3 times that of Hadfield steel!
The arrangement of Fine Chamber is almost the same as that of rough Chamber. According to the structure of the casting, Feed Size, make some small adjustments, there is no major change.
C. TIC Insert is a mesh-like structure, which is divided into points on the wear part, so as to achieve the purpose of improving the wear resistance of the part as a whole.
For TIC design, our engineers once again improved the design based on the wear curve of the parts you provided.
The size of the ore entering the Fine Chamber is very small, so we reduced the diameter and arrangement spacing of the TIC in order to obtain the best wear effect.
I share these ideas with you to let you fully understand the in-depth research we have done in this project.
Every new project is full of challenges and unknowns, but we are willing to challenge some interesting & valuable projects together with new customer.
How to solve the problem of excessive wear on both ends of Jaw liners? This is a classic case
One of our customers is in Shandong Province, China, and they have 2 crushers to crush iron ore.
One is 36X48 Jaw Crusher
One is 42X54 Jaw Crusher
We are told by customers that when they use OEM Liners, both ends of the Liners wear out very quickly! So productivity quickly dropped.
We filled the two ends of the teeth for our customers, and inlaid a lot of TIC Inserts at both ends.
The service life of the improved Liners is 3.68 times that of OEM Liners!
The customer was very satisfied with this and gave BOGVIK all their orders for Liners from dozens of sites in China

THE SPECIAL SENCES- Unlocking the Wonders of the Special Senses: Sight, Sound...Nursing Mastery
Title: Unlocking the Wonders of the Special Senses: Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste, and Balance
Introduction:
Welcome to our captivating SlideShare presentation on the Special Senses, where we delve into the extraordinary capabilities that allow us to perceive and interact with the world around us. Join us on a sensory journey as we explore the intricate structures and functions of sight, sound, smell, taste, and balance.
The special senses are our primary means of experiencing and interpreting the environment, each sense providing unique and vital information that shapes our perceptions and responses. These senses are facilitated by highly specialized organs and complex neural pathways, enabling us to see a vibrant sunset, hear a symphony, savor a delicious meal, detect a fragrant flower, and maintain our equilibrium.
In this presentation, we will:
Visual System (Sight): Dive into the anatomy and physiology of the eye, exploring how light is converted into electrical signals and processed by the brain to create the images we see. Understand common vision disorders and the mechanisms behind corrective measures like glasses and contact lenses.
Auditory System (Hearing): Examine the structures of the ear and the process of sound wave transduction, from the outer ear to the cochlea and auditory nerve. Learn about hearing loss, auditory processing, and the advances in hearing aid technology.
Olfactory System (Smell): Discover the olfactory receptors and pathways that enable the detection of thousands of different odors. Explore the connection between smell and memory and the impact of olfactory disorders on quality of life.
Gustatory System (Taste): Uncover the taste buds and the five basic tastes – sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami. Delve into the interplay between taste and smell and the factors influencing our food preferences and eating habits.
Vestibular System (Balance): Investigate the inner ear structures responsible for balance and spatial orientation. Understand how the vestibular system helps maintain posture and coordination, and explore common vestibular disorders and their effects.
Through engaging visuals, interactive diagrams, and insightful explanations, we aim to illuminate the complexities of the special senses and their profound impact on our daily lives. Whether you're a student, educator, or simply curious about how we perceive the world, this presentation will provide valuable insights into the remarkable capabilities of the human sensory system.
Join us as we unlock the wonders of the special senses and gain a deeper appreciation for the intricate mechanisms that allow us to experience the richness of our environment.

Before embarking on a research project, especially one aimed at scoping and defining parameters like the one described for health tech IT, several crucial considerations should be addressed. Here’s a comprehensive guide covering key aspects to ensure a well-structured and successful research initiative:
1. Define Research Objectives and Scope
Clear Objectives: Define specific goals such as understanding market needs, identifying new opportunities, assessing risks, or refining pricing strategies.
Scope Definition: Clearly outline the boundaries of the research in terms of geographical focus, target demographics (e.g., age, socio-economic status), and industry sectors (e.g., healthcare IT).
3. Review Existing Literature and Resources

This guide covers all the preliminary steps needed to lay a strong foundation for your research.
"Market Research it too text-booky, I am in the market for a decade, I am living research book" this is what the founder I met on the event claimed, few of my colleagues rolled their eyes. Its true that one cannot over look the real life experience, but one cannot out beat structured gold mine of market research.
Many 0 to 1 startup founders often overlook market research, but this critical step can make or break a venture, especially in health tech.
But Why do they skip it?
Limited resources—time, money, and manpower—are common culprits.
"In fact, a survey by CB Insights found that 42% of startups fail due to no market need, which is like building a spaceship to Mars only to realise you forgot the fuel."
Sudharsan Srinivasan
Operational Partner Pitchworks VC Studio
Overconfidence in their product’s success leads founders to assume it will naturally find its market, especially in health tech where patient needs, entire system issues and regulatory requirements are as complex as trying to perform brain surgery with a butter knife. Additionally, the pressure to launch quickly and the belief in their own intuition further contribute to this oversight. Yet, thorough market research in health tech could be the key to transforming a startup's vision into a life-saving reality, instead of a medical mishap waiting to happen.
Example of Market Research working
Innovaccer, founded by Abhinav Shashank in 2014, focuses on improving healthcare delivery through data-driven insights and interoperability solutions. Before launching their platform, Innovaccer conducted extensive market research to understand the challenges faced by healthcare organizations and the potential for innovation in healthcare IT.
Identifying Pain Points: Innovaccer surveyed healthcare providers to understand their difficulties with data integration, care coordination, and patient engagement. They found widespread frustration with siloed systems and inefficient workflows.
Competitive Analysis: Analyzed competitors offering similar solutions in healthcare analytics and interoperability. Identified gaps in comprehensive data aggregation, real-time analytics, and actionable insights.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensured their platform complied with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy regulations. This compliance was crucial to gaining trust from healthcare providers wary of data security issues.
Customer Validation: Conducted pilot programs with several healthcare organizations to validate the platform's effectiveness in improving care outcomes and operational efficiency. Gathered feedback to refine features and user interface.

●Electrical activity has two phases:
Depolarization- contraction of muscle
Repolarization- relaxation of muscle
ECG Leads:
●6 Chest leads
●6 Limb leads
1. Bipolar Limb Leads:
Lead 1- Between right arm(-ve) and left arm(+ve)
Lead 2- Between right arm(-ve) and left leg(+ve)
Lead 3- Between left arm(-ve)
and left leg(+ve)
2. Augmented unipolar Limb Leads:
AvR- Right arm
AvL- Left arm

Normal ECG:
Waves of ECG:
P Wave
•P Wave is a positive wave and the first wave in ECG.
•It is also called as atrial complex.
Cause: Atrial depolarisation
Duration: 0.1 sec
QRS Complex:
•QRS’ complex is also called the initial ventricular complex.
•‘Q’ wave is a small negative wave. It is continued as the tall ‘R’ wave, which is a positive wave.
‘R’ wave is followed by a small negative wave, the ‘S’ wave.
Cause:Ventricular depolarization and atrial repolarization
Duration: 0.08- 0.10 sec
T Wave:
•‘T’ wave is the final ventricular complex and is a positive wave.
Cause:Ventricular repolarization Duration: 0.2 sec
Intervals and Segments of ECG:
P-R Interval:
•‘P-R’ interval is the interval
between the onset of ‘P’wave and onset of ‘Q’ wave.
•‘P-R’ interval cause atrial depolarization and conduction of impulses through AV node.
Duration:0.18 (0.12 to 0.2) sec
Q-T Interval:
•‘Q-T’ interval is the interval between the onset of ‘Q’
wave and the end of ‘T’ wave.
•‘Q-T’ interval indicates the ventricular depolarization
and ventricular repolarization,
i.e. it signifies the
electrical activity in ventricles.
Duration:0.4-0.42sec
S-T Segment:
•‘S-T’ segment is the time interval between the end of ‘S’ wave and the onset of ‘T’ wave.
Duration: 0.08 sec
R-R Interval:
•‘R-R’ interval is the time interval between two consecutive ‘R’ waves.
•It signifies the duration of one cardiac cycle.
Duration: 0.8 sec

The Importance of Black Women Understanding the Chemicals in Their Personal C...bkling
Certain chemicals, such as phthalates and parabens, can disrupt the body's hormones and have significant effects on health. According to data, hormone-related health issues such as uterine fibroids, infertility, early puberty and more aggressive forms of breast and endometrial cancers disproportionately affect Black women. Our guest speaker, Jasmine A. McDonald, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Columbia University in New York City, discusses the scientific reasons why Black women should pay attention to specific chemicals in their personal care products, like hair care, and ways to minimize their exposure.

What is Super Cut
SC stands for “Supercut” and means
that scissors with that designation have
been specially ground, not only to make
them sharper than ordinary scissors, but
yields a much better cutting angle (cf. the
accompanying illustrations).
What is TC
TC stands for “Tungsten Carbide”, a
material whose superior strength wear
resistance and hardness are its major
properties that distinguish it from con-
ventional materials.

Fine Preparation Scissors
The curved blunt Preparation Scissors are
used for preparation in the least traumatic
way of separating tissue into connective
tissue layers.
The surgeon pushes the scissor parallel to
the skin or to the level of the layers which
should be separated (picture 2), opens
the scissor and pulls it back in an opened
position.
The tissue layers are separated by spread-
ing movements of the scissor blades and
the required layer is opened (picture 3).
The tip of the scissor is usually facing the
less sensitive structures.
In the second instance the scissor is used
for cutting.

Implants, abutments and small
parts fall down and it is not
possible to grab them up safely?
With the implant holding twee-

to the past, due to the three-fin-

of choice, to prevent the surface
of the implants and abutments
fom damages.

Inser ng implants gets much easier anf effec ve due to caliper acc. To prof. Dr. Med. Dent. Gisbert krekeler.
Working is safer, faster anf more precise by the combina on serverl fuc ons in one instrument.
For a maximum stability always the widest possible implant
Diameter should be chosen. Due to the exactly 1,5 mm measu-
Ring rods, you can read the maximum diameter directly. Due to
Scien fic research in order to avoid bones resorb on a er the
Implantological treatment, there should be a wall of at least
1,5 mm of bone material to each side.

Due to the mul func onal character it is very easy to set an implant. The measuring rods allow a fast and
defined control of parallel and symmetrical distances between implants in distal and mesial direc on. The
hole at the end of the sliding callipers serves as a drilling gauge, drilling guide and depth measurements

Crown spreader
With the crown spreader it is possible to spread off crowns without
rotationon the root underneath, in order to protect the nerve.
The crown is getting slotted with a burr.
Insert the plier into the slit, according to its position from occlusal,
buccal or lingual.
The crown is getting spreaded securely and anatomically correct
by compressing the plier. The advantages of the instrument are:
there is no rotation on the root or
pressure on neighbor teeth. ;
