This presentation helps you to discover what is circular economy and what are the opportunities of this new model.
In a few slides, you can easily understand the issues on resources and the methods to improve materials, products or components value and life span.
Among some of the world’s top corporate leaders, there’s a growing understanding that traditional business models—built on the presumption of unlimited and cheap natural resources—must be reworked for 21st century realities. The circular economy represents a markedly different way of doing business, replacing established practices like planned obsolescence with new approaches to generating profits. This report examines how brands from Puma and Ford to Ikea and Starbucks are becoming more circular, why this concept is gaining more adherents now and implications for brands. The circular economy is an important topic not only because the approach is far better for the planet but also because tapping into its principles may well be essential to long-term competitiveness.
To tackle global and societal challenges like the SDG’s and Climate Change - we need collaborations at a scale beyond individual projects and organisations.
We need to invest in building our portfolio capabilities - so that we can have scalable impact and work across the whole system for transformation.
By orchestrating entire innovation ecosystems, we can bridge and create coherence between the adaptive and practical efforts that are at play. This session will focus on building an understanding of the capabilities and capacities that are needed in organisations to work in systems transformations.

Summary - Circular economy course by Technical University of DelftVikas Pandey
Summary of the below 7 episodes from the course
(https://online-learning.tudelft.nl/courses/circular-economy-design-and-technology/)
Episode 1: What is the circular economy?
How can the circular economy provide solutions to the challenges our current, linear economy brings? We explore the roots of the circular economy together with experts in the fields of industrial ecology, cradle to cradle and biomimicry.
Episode 2: Business value in a circular economy
Through closed-loop supply chains and reversed logistics, new opportunities for business are created. This episode explores value creation and new business models in a circular economy.
Episode 3: Longer lasting products
The smaller the loop, the greater the profitability of the system. We look at product life extension through the eyes of designers and entrepreneurs.
Episode 4: Remanufacturing
Remanufacturing enables companies to recapture value on a product or component level. It is currently being rediscovered as a promising business opportunity. We'll explore the topic together with researchers and entrepreneurs.
Episode 5: Waste equals Food
This episode discusses how we can take inspiration from nature when redesigning the way we deal with waste. We'll present a fascinating circular case study. Can you identify opportunities for change in your own area's?
Episode 6: Thinking in systems
The shift from linear to circular should not be underestimated. This episode will discuss the extent and duration of the transition. It will also ask, is the circular economy really sustainable?
Episode 7: Giving back. Takeaways and narratives.
These slides cover briefly the concept of circular economy, how it aims at reducing waste to a minimum. When a product reaches the end of its life, its materials are kept within the economy wherever possible. These materials would then be productively used again and again, thereby creating further value. Circular economy has enormous benefits when compared against the traditional linear and recycling economies.

Wind Energy is the kinetic energy associated with the movement of atmospheric air. Wind Energy Systems convert this kinetic energy to more useful forms of power. Wind turbine transforms the energy in the wind into mechanical power, further converting to electric power to generate electricity. Wind turbine can be used singly or in clusters called 'Wind Farms'. Small wind turbines called aero-generators can be used for water pumping, battery charging etc.

This article proposes new strategies and environmentally friendly methods to
establish permanent green business projects in Mauritius. In order to improve green
business in Mauritius while involving both small and medium local entrepreneurs in the process, all parties should coordinate to achieve the main objectives. Several stages
should be carried out by the Mauritius government to move toward a sustainable
business environment and development of permanent green business projects. The
process is explained in this paper starting with the initial stage, through profit generation,
and continuation of green business projects. This includes hiring SME entrepreneurs for
permanent maintenance and successful utilization of green business resources.

FROMTHE EDITOR’S DESK Eco-Business was started in 2009 as an experiment of sorts in the run-up to the United Nations climate change summit in Copenhagen.
Progressive companies around the world are developing products and services that will revolutionise industries and deliver transformative change for society and our planet. These solutions are driving new business growth while significantly reducing emissions towards a low-carbon, sustainable future for all.
Accelerating and scaling up implementation across sectors and borders, however, will require a higher level of collaboration than we have ever seen before, between business, government, and NGOs. The Business for the Environment (B4E) COP17 Dialogue aims to facilitate this, bringing stakeholders together to forge new partnerships and take real action on climate change. Leading the way and powering ahead for a clean industrial revolution.
Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Eccotopia Planning to Apply for Matching Funds
1. Eccotopia Planning to Apply for Matching Funds
The South African government has a program that provides funds for
environmental cleansolution up, while Eccotopia has a for the disposal
of the large quantity of acidic mining waste water, using Megafolia
trees for the process of phytoremediation.
Cape Town, South Africa, January 07, 2013 -- Julian Moses, President of
Symphony Trade and Investment 57 (PTY) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary
of Eccotopia Ltd. http://www.eccotopia.com, announced today that
Eccotopia has decided to enter into discussion in 2013 to apply for
matching funds from the South African government for its project in
South Africa. Eccotopia plans to offer a lasting resolution to the mine
water problem in South Africa with the use of the Megafolia trees and
their profound abilities in the process of phytoremediation. Currently
the government has a program that provides funds for environmental
cleanup projects that provide a “green solution”; the project is
estimated to create thousands of jobs in the next six to ten years.
Eccotopia ( http://www.eccotopia.com ) has had favorable preliminary
discussions with the labor unions in South Africa.
In addition to the environmental project cleanup system, the company
will be offering a green energy solution starting in the 5th year of
the project. Besides being an excellent natural resource for the
process of phytoremediation, the fast-growing Megafolia trees are a
rapid producer of biomass, offering the opportunity to produce both
ethanol and diesel for trucks. While the first phase of the project
will be to demonstrate that Eccotopia ( http://www.eccotopia.com ) has
a solution for the disposal of the large quantity of mining waste
water, the secondary benefits will be the production of “green fuel”
for the vast needs of Southern Africa. Initial plans call for the
hiring of 20 to 30 employees which will be trained the first year to be
the future leaders in the rapid expansion of the project.
About Eccotopia:
Eccotopia has developed a number of significant strategic alliances
with environmental industry partners. We offer not only innovative,
patented technologies of our own, but also an unmatched ability to
provide experienced, objective third-party testing and evaluation of
new technologies and cutting-edge approaches to site remediation,
decentralization, forestation programs and pollution control.
We understand the dynamics of combining ecological and environmental
improvements with industrialization and profitability. We have begun to
explore linkages between ecology and economics, looking to create new
kinds of partnerships and enterprise out of environmental protection
and restoration initiatives. Eccotopia's principal commitments are to
our partners and to the environment.
