One of the most intuitive features of Vconnecta’s

political action, such as canvassing (door to door visits),
dropping leaflets, etc.

The blue dots spread around the screenshot area represent
those houses which have registered to vote, a database which
is integrated with the proprietary geolocation architecture
powering the system.
Once the back office team has finished delineating the outline
of the area to be canvassed, a pop-up menu offers the user
the ability to give name the area (in this case, we’ve called the
selection ‘Blackrock 3′), and the ability to assign the task of
canvassing the area to a specific team member.
In the top right hand side of the window, the campaign planner
can easily see the number of canvassers available and
update contact information at headquarters.
The output of what the campaign manager assigns is a list of
houses to be canvassed/leafleted/etc which the designated
team member receives on his copy of the application.
Why segment?
In the close-quarters world of local politics, the distance
between one local representative ward and another can often
mean simply crossing a street.
It is therefore imperative to ensure that each team member in
a canvass knows exactly which houses are being targeted to
avoid either duplicate canvassing, repetitive canvassing, or
crossing into a political catchment area other than that being
prioritized.
The system also generates a historical record of canvasses,
which is a huge improvement on recording the same
information through pen-and-paper systems.
