This document discusses FRAND (fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory) licensing terms as they relate to open source software. It introduces Kolab Systems, an open source SME (small-to-medium sized enterprise) and their Kolab groupware solution. The document advocates that FRAND terms should not discriminate against open source and proposes some minimum requirements for FRAND, including being royalty-free, not requiring registration, and being irrevocable and perpetual.
