This topic interests me to a great extent because Ebola has been a deadly menace, ravaging the African continent and the world in general. According to World Health Organization (2015) the virus has so far claimed the lives of approximately 10,000 people. In addition, there is no single licensed vaccine to protect people against the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) even though there are various vaccines which are currently in development through clinical trials. New Ebola cases are being reported each and every day and unless something is done fast, the disease will continue to pose a threat to human life. It is therefore important to understand the various aspects of this lethal virus in order to continuously take proper precaution against it.
The Audience
The paper will target community members who do not have an in depth understanding of the Ebola Virus. It will help to dispel any existing myths and misconceptions relating to the illness. By doing this, the community members will also be able to understand the steps that are being taken by the government through agencies such as C.D.C to prevent and control against the Ebola virus by training medical responders as well as airport crew and workers. This will calm them down and hence avert the risk of a panic situation in the area; incase an individual from the community is suspected of being infected with the virus. Community engagement is the key to controlling outbreaks by applying a set of interventions such as contact tracing, social mobilization, proper lab practices and surveillance. It is therefore important to educate the community members adequately on all aspects of the virus in order to lessen casualty in case an outbreak occurs in the area.
Learning Objectives
This paper will sensitize individuals on the symptoms associated with Ebola. It will also equip the audience with measures that can be undertaken if they suspect a friend or a family member to be infected by the virus. In addition, the paper will explore various matters relating to the origin of the virus. This will enhance their knowledge of the topic. By doing this, the audience will be enlightened enough to pass the correct information to other people around them. Sensitizing community members about the Ebola virus will also ensure that they understand the severity of this outbreak and come up with ways that can be used to aid the worst hit countries.

In recent years, Minnesota has witnessed a huge influx of immigrants from Africa. According to the 2008 Institute
for Agricultural and Trade Policy report, Minnesota has become the home of largest population of Somalian in the United States,
and the home of the ninth largest population of African immigrants in America. It is estimated that between 70,000 and 80, 000
live in Minnesota. Somalia lead the way with about 37% of the African population followed by Ethiopia, 21%, Liberian, 12%,
and Kenyan, 8% (Institute for Agricultural and Trade Policy, 2008). Consequently, the Ebola outbreak in West Africa has
impacted the lives of the Minnesota African Diaspora and their relatives living in Africa. The Minnesota African Taskforce
Against Ebola (MATFAE) was created as a result of the strong desire among Africans in the Diaspora to address stigma

In collaboration with the national malaria control programme in Cambodia (CNM), Malaria Consortium developed a diverse set of tools to improve malaria surveillance and to provide the information needed by national and district staff to manage the national malaria programme, respond to malaria outbreaks and individual cases and monitor in real-time the levels of critical malaria supplies at health facilities.
The surveillance tools developed were a mix of routine reporting systems using eHealth and mobile phone-based (mHealth) solutions that would enable resource constrained environments to provide real-time data for immediate action. This learning paper documents the lessons learned in developing an appropriate tool and the specific considerations in the implementation of mHealth solutions.

From January – May 2015, a typhoid outbreak occurred in Uganda. Pulse Lab Kampala was invited to join the National Task Force in response to the outbreak. In coordination with WHO, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Pulse Lab Kampala produced a series of data visualisations to support the early response to the disease. Visualisations of weekly reports from health centres were produced with interactive maps at district, sub-county and individual health facility level. Tanzania has made progress against malaria, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis in the last decade with help from organizations like the Global Fund and PEPFAR. Malaria cases have declined from 13 million to under 7.5 million from 2010 to 2014. HIV prevalence has decreased from 7.4% to 5.3% from 2003 to 2014. Tuberculosis incidence has also decreased while its prevalence has plateaued. Contact tracing, is an essential step in breaking the chain of disease transmission and ending an outbreak. There is need to explore digital tools and skills which will enhance the collection and management of epidemiologic, clinical, and laboratory information for every case. This data is crucial for developing outbreak counter measures. In the context of ebola virus disease (EVD), developing a Geographical Information System (GIS) and remote sensing platform for contacting tracing and monitoring of cases will aid field workers visualize outbreak spread between people as well as provide automated tools that speed contact tracing and spatial data analysis. With a disease as often fatal as Ebola, quickly identifying and following up with those who may have been exposed is key to saving lives and containing the outbreak .
This paper gives a preliminary non-technical insight on how GIS and remote sensing can be integrated into existing methodologies to mitigate the challenges in contact tracing and monitoring of Ebola virus diseases cases in any given geographical location. Invariably, this can also be used to design appropriate tools for monitoring outbreaks of viral hemorrhagic fevers such as Ebola, Marburg, Rift Valley, Lassa, and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fevers.

From January – May 2015, a typhoid outbreak occurred in Uganda. Pulse Lab Kampala was invited to join the National Task Force in response to the outbreak. In coordination with WHO, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Pulse Lab Kampala produced a series of data visualisations to support the early response to the disease. Visualisations of weekly reports from health centres were produced with interactive maps at district, sub-county and individual health facility level. The visualisations allowed decision making for the allocation of medicine, medical personnel and health centres, as well as targeting training areas.

Tanzania Country Profile
Tanzania has made progress against malaria, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis in the last decade with help from organizations like the Global Fund and PEPFAR. Malaria cases have declined from 13 million to under 7.5 million from 2010 to 2014. HIV prevalence has decreased from 7.4% to 5.3% from 2003 to 2014. Tuberculosis incidence has also decreased while its prevalence has plateaued. The Global Fund has committed over $1.7 billion to Tanzania, helping to distribute bed nets, increase access to antiretroviral treatment, and strengthen the country's health system.

It offers services like alerting emergency contacts if the user is involved in an accident and providing location information for hikers in danger. The goal is for HELPmed360 to collect widespread support and recognition to become an official health resource that can improve medical responses in emergencies.

The USHAHIDI project in Benin uses SMS reporting and mapping to fight violence against children. It allows youth to anonymously report incidents of violence via SMS. Contact tracing, is an essential step in breaking the chain of disease transmission and ending an outbreak. There is need to explore digital tools and skills which will enhance the collection and management of epidemiologic, clinical, and laboratory information for every case. This data is crucial for developing outbreak counter measures. In the context of ebola virus disease (EVD), developing a Geographical Information System (GIS) and remote sensing platform for contacting tracing and monitoring of cases will aid field workers visualize outbreak spread between people as well as provide automated tools that speed contact tracing and spatial data analysis. With a disease as often fatal as Ebola, quickly identifying and following up with those who may have been exposed is key to saving lives and containing the outbreak .
This paper gives a preliminary non-technical insight on how GIS and remote sensing can be integrated into existing methodologies to mitigate the challenges in contact tracing and monitoring of Ebola virus diseases cases in any given geographical location. Invariably, this can also be used to design appropriate tools for monitoring outbreaks of viral hemorrhagic fevers such as Ebola, Marburg, Rift Valley, Lassa, and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fevers.

Resilient public alert and warning tools are essential to save lives and protect property during times of national, regional, and local emergencies. Nowadays, immediate emergency alerts became one of the priority in both national and local government. The Provincial Government of Albay is geared towards becoming the most liveable province of the Philippines, which means that it would be known for good education, good healthcare and good environment where people are healthy, happy, employed and lives to their full potential. To achieve this goal, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation must be anchored well so as to move to its destination of shared socioeconomic advancement. Supporting this vision, this study focuses on the design and development of a mobile based Albay Emergency Reporting and Response Tool (ALERRT). It is a mobile based resilient form of emergency alert notification that aids the concerned citizens of any emergencies, accidents and concerns that require immediate response from the government sector concerned.

Breast cancer in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) status is a common and complex condition that necessitates a multifaceted approach to management. HR+ breast cancer means that the cancer cells grow in response to hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. This subtype is prevalent among postmenopausal women and typically exhibits a more indolent course compared to other forms of breast cancer, which allows for a variety of treatment options.
Diagnosis and Staging
The diagnosis of HR+ breast cancer begins with clinical evaluation, imaging, and biopsy. Imaging modalities such as mammography, ultrasound, and MRI help in assessing the extent of the disease. Histopathological examination and immunohistochemical staining of the biopsy sample confirm the diagnosis and hormone receptor status by identifying the presence of estrogen receptors (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR) on the tumor cells.
Staging involves determining the size of the tumor (T), the involvement of regional lymph nodes (N), and the presence of distant metastasis (M). The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system is commonly used. Accurate staging is critical as it guides treatment decisions.
Treatment Options
Endocrine Therapy
Endocrine therapy is the cornerstone of treatment for HR+ breast cancer in postmenopausal women. The primary goal is to reduce the levels of estrogen or block its effects on cancer cells. Commonly used agents include:
Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs): Tamoxifen is a SERM that binds to estrogen receptors, blocking estrogen from stimulating breast cancer cells. It is effective but may have side effects such as increased risk of endometrial cancer and thromboembolic events.
Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs): These drugs, including anastrozole, letrozole, and exemestane, lower estrogen levels by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, which converts androgens to estrogen in peripheral tissues. AIs are generally preferred in postmenopausal women due to their efficacy and safety profile compared to tamoxifen.
Selective Estrogen Receptor Downregulators (SERDs): Fulvestrant is a SERD that degrades estrogen receptors and is used in cases where resistance to other endocrine therapies develops.
Combination Therapies
Combining endocrine therapy with other treatments enhances efficacy. Examples include:
Endocrine Therapy with CDK4/6 Inhibitors: Palbociclib, ribociclib, and abemaciclib are CDK4/6 inhibitors that, when combined with endocrine therapy, significantly improve progression-free survival in advanced HR+ breast cancer.
Endocrine Therapy with mTOR Inhibitors: Everolimus, an mTOR inhibitor, can be added to endocrine therapy for patients who have developed resistance to aromatase inhibitors.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is generally reserved for patients with high-risk features, such as large tumor size, high-grade histology, or extensive lymph node involvement. Regimens often include anthracyclines and taxanes.

- 1. Ebol@ctu is an interactive mapping on the situation of the Ebola virus disease which will focus, first time, on the northern region of Senegal, viewed on Ndarinfo.com. It is based on official data provided by the Ministry of Health, the northern region and medical institutions in the fight against the disease. This is a weekly edition in the beginning that will provide all the information on the number of suspected cases and cases treated and the various hospitals and health services that supported them. The objective of the project is: • provide accurate data on Ebola and infectious diseases in the area north of simple and effective way through illustrations. • to raise awareness about prevention methods to be taken to fight against the disease. • laying the groundwork for an interactive data journalism Ebola and infectious diseases in Senegal which is based on data from the Ministry of Health and various institutions in the fight against these diseases. Technically, the interface will run on HTLM5, CSS3 and Javascript. She then decline in Mobile Application form of geolocation that allows users to have the hospital or the nearest health facility when a suspect case is revealed (Ebola and infectious diseases). It will finally be connected connected to a hotline that will allow users to alert health authorities not access the GPS. The latter will reach the person to collect comprehensive information on the location and the symptoms of suspected cases.
