Everything is famously code today—cars are computers with wheels, appliances have Internet access, smart doors and houses are controlled from mobile phone apps. With all this code around, security is more of a challenge than ever. A central pillar of security is identity management: the technology that protects logins and controls access. This, too, is becoming code to work with all the other code. Libraries for developers are essential, including ID controls in mobile and Web applications for initial sign on, single sign-on, federated sign-on, biometric authentication systems, and controlling access to sensitive data. And code itself is becoming code: automation systems for producing code, deploying code, updating code, configuring resources and access controls. IAM code has to be wherever it’s needed, when it’s needed, and automated, just like any other code. The better we do this, the more secure we all are with our ubiquitous computers.
Message based microservices architectures driven with dockerDocker, Inc.
Microservices are not for everyone, but there are some incredible benefits to employing microservice architecture principles to enable co-evolution of services and features and reduce friction during the DevOps cycle. The growth of moving parts, however, does require tight DevOps procedures, and visibility into system operations including diagnostics, application events and audit trail. Event streaming can enhance your solution enabling async processing and scale, but also enhancing visibility to the solution as a whole. The good news is that if you are already designing a solution based on microservice principles, you are already positioned to incorporate events with less pain. Services that "fit in your head" lead to a manageable approach to introducing event-based strategies. In this session you'll learn how to design a microservices solution with Docker, that relies on event streams to produce workflow state, history and full audit. You'll see patterns for structuring your solutions, managing events and payloads, designing your eventual consistency strategy, and producing full history and audit logs for the solution.

Watch the on-demand webinar here: https://wso2.com/library/webinars/an-entry-point-to-impactful-open-banking-architecture/
Description:
Banks in Europe, the UK, and Australia have been hard at work prototyping new use cases and operating models that leverage open data and collaboration. In regions like Africa, Latin America, and South and Southeast Asia, we are seeing customer demand and shifting expectations drive increased adoption of open banking models, even where regulation doesn't explicitly require it. A growing number of fintechs and “challenger banks” have emerged seeking to capitalize on customers looking for easier and more intuitive financial experiences.
In this deck we’ll cover how you can make the most of these developments and invest in the long term. Discussion topics include:
Open banking fundamentals as relevant to systems design with reference to PSD2 specifications and the Australian Consumer Data Standards, along with related concepts from the GDPR regime.
Open banking reference architectures to create adaptable open APIs, open data, and open platforms for technical and business agility.
Leveraging internal capabilities and data to craft a competitive advantage.

Securing Access to SaaS Apps with WSO2 Identity ServerWSO2
Software as a Service (SaaS) is rapidly emerging as the dominant delivery model for meeting the needs of enterprise IT services. According to Gartner the worldwide public cloud services market will grow by 18% in 2017 and cloud application services (SaaS) is expected to grow by 20.1% and reach $46.3 billion.
This growth raises enterprise security concerns and the importance for mobility adds on to the challenges you will face when adopting SaaS application. You need to implement a complete identity management solution that ensures secure access to your SaaS apps and safeguards sensitive data that reside in them.
Ishara Karunaratne and Farasath Ahamed of WSO2 explored how you can leverage WSO2 Identity Server to address the security needs when adopting a SaaS solution and preserve your industry security standards.
Building Business Platforms Using an API Driven MarketplaceWSO2
Platforms are fast becoming the de-facto business model for large-scale digital innovation. The success of unicorn businesses such as Uber and AirBnB that continue to disrupt traditional established markets is proof that business platforms are here to stay!
Building a sustainable platform goes beyond just technology. Ensuring digital innovation, participation and agility from both internal and external stakeholders of a platform require platform design that takes into account the needs of producers and consumers of services and solves them via a technology platform.
APIs are a key part of this platform driven digital innovation, enabling organizations to expose internal assets in a controlled manner to various stakeholders whilst enabling the community to build innovative applications consuming these services. API platforms provide the core technology for the sharing of these APIs.
This workshop looks at the power of the platform business model and case studies around them. We then look at how API platforms play a role in digital innovation through concepts such as API management, rate limiting, security, monetization, analytics and social feedback.
Digital transformation is the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business, fundamentally changing how you operate and deliver value to customers. It's also a cultural change that requires organizations to continually challenge the status quo, experiment, and get comfortable with failure.
It is essential that you integrate digital technology into all areas of business so that your business can be agile and adapts to changing circumstances. Microservices architecture gives you the agility required to build a digital business, while APIs are the enablers for turning a conventional business into a digital business. In this webinar, we will discuss how an enterprise can adopt an API-first approach for building a digital business leveraging microservices architecture.
We will explain and show the business benefits of:
- An API-first approach for building a digital business
- How microservices enables business agility
- Building and integrating your microservices
- Modernization of your legacy applications
- How to leverage the WSO2 API integration platform to build a digital business.

APIs are the oil of the digital world. Different forms and types of APIs power the digital mesh to which we’re all connected to. The potential and reach of APIs however are heavily underutilized today in many organizations. The root cause of this seems to be the lack of a “product mindset” on APIs. Organizations that strategically invest in building a product mindset for APIs have been successful in putting themselves significantly ahead of the curve in innovation. In this session, Nuwan will talk about six key points that will be valuable for API product managers and architects to bring in a product mindset to APIs within their organizations. This will help them to build a more streamlined, agile, and repeatable process that converts their APIs into digital products.

SOCRadar Research Team: Latest Activities of IntelBrokerSOCRadar
The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) has suffered an alleged data breach after a notorious threat actor claimed to have exfiltrated data from its systems. Infamous data leaker IntelBroker posted on the even more infamous BreachForums hacking forum, saying that Europol suffered a data breach this month.
The alleged breach affected Europol agencies CCSE, EC3, Europol Platform for Experts, Law Enforcement Forum, and SIRIUS. Infiltration of these entities can disrupt ongoing investigations and compromise sensitive intelligence shared among international law enforcement agencies.
However, this is neither the first nor the last activity of IntekBroker. We have compiled for you what happened in the last few days. To track such hacker activities on dark web sources like hacker forums, private Telegram channels, and other hidden platforms where cyber threats often originate, you can check SOCRadar’s Dark Web News.

The people behind the platform.
eBMS – Product Owner
A Melbourne based company and technology owner of the product - ‘The eBMS Platform’.
Established in 1995, it mainly focussed on crafting solutions within the spreadsheet and
database field. Eight years ago it recognised the need for management systems to be more
mobile, easy to configure and to be more affordable. The eBMS Platform has been available
over the last 5 years and are currently used throughout Australia with clients also in Thailand
and USA. This proven and dynamic product is used by a number of high profile clients , but
also a group of smaller organisations who we’ve freed successfully from ‘spreadsheet
slavery’.
The eBMS platform is a modular business management system that can be customised to meet your exact requirements. We like to enable businesses to do more with less – therefore we offer a single system that will enable you to leave all your paper and spreadsheet type registers behind forever.
We specialise in converting core organisation-wide business processes to efficient and cost effective browser-accessible systems that enable businesses to work more effectively. Our systems are available anywhere, any time.

We are an Australian software solutions company with a difference. Since our inception in 1995, we have been committed to developing systems that are mobile and easy to configure, but that do not carry an expensive price tag.
With this in mind we received an innovation grant from government and three years later emerged from our R&D cave with a platform technology which has exceeded our wildest expectations.
Within three years we have managed to secure a number of high profile clients and also freed a group of smaller organisations from ‘spreadsheet slavery’. Our software platforms are currently used throughout Australia and we also have clients in Thailand and the USA.
