This document discusses a study of 265 patients who underwent midurethral sling placement (TOT procedure) between 2012-2015 to determine if early voiding problems were more common in patients discharged the day of the operation compared to patients who stayed in the hospital overnight. The study found that the rate of clean intermittent catheterization due to voiding problems was similar between patients discharged the same day (8.9%) and those who stayed overnight (7.2%). The study concluded that there is no need for patients to routinely stay overnight in the hospital after undergoing a TOT procedure.
