Earthquake
Tectonic Earthquake
Tectonic Earthquakes are
caused by the movement
of the Earth's plates.
Cause
Tectonic earthquake occur when the
Earth's plates move. This can happen
when one plate slides underneath
another.
Effects
Tectonic earthquakes are
incredibly powerful and can cause
extensive damage. They can also
trigger other natural disasters,
such as tsumis and landslides
Volcanic Earthquake
Volcanic Earthquake are
caused by the movement
of the magma beneath
the Earth's surface.
Cause
This can happen when the magma
is forced up by the movement of
magma beneath the Earth's surface
or when it's released from a volcano.
Effects
Volcanic earthquakes can cause
significant damage, even though they
are typically smaller than tectonic
earthquake. They can also trigger other
natural disasters such as tsunamis
and landslides.
Collapse Earthquake
Collapse Earthquake
occur when buildings or
other structures collapse.
Causes
•Poor construction
•Severe weather
•An Earthquake
Effects
•Fires
•Gas Leaks
Explotion Earthquake
Explotion Earthquakes are
caused by the detonation
of explosive.
Causes
•Construction
•Mining
•Warfare
Effects
•Fires
•Gas Leaks
Moro Gulf

in the Philippines. It measured 8.0 on the moment magnitude

accompanied by a destructive tsunami that resulted in a majority
of the estimated 5,000 to 8,000 fatalities
What to do

03 Have a plan
Gather supplies
During an Earthquake
Indoors – Get under a desk or table, cover your head
and neck with one arm or hand, and use your other
arm or hand to hang on (drop, cover, and hold on)
Outdoors – Quickly find an open space away
from buildings, power lines, and anything else
that can topple on you.
After an Earthquake
•Conduct a safety check
•Get help, if needed
•Be prepared for aftershocks
•Stay connected
