Model EAM-T46
is a
manually activated self-inflating life
raft intended for use by aircraft
crew members and passengers
during overwater emergencies and
is designed to provide safe, rapid
and reliable means for aircraft
egress in case of such an
emergency. It is equipped with a
dual air-aspirated inflation system.
Two cylinders (one for each floatation tube), with corresponding valve
assemblies feed two air aspirators one mounted on each tube.
When deployed and in water, life
raft EAM-T46 may be boarded on
either side. Raft accessories are
contained in an accessories case
tied to raft. Accessories case is to
be pulled onto raft by occupants
subsequent to boarding. Also the
carrying case is attached to the raft
by means of a case tie line.
The fabric deck is equipped with an
inflatable center float to provide
additional floatation support. The
center float is inflated by
occupants subsequent to boarding
using the hand pump supplied with
raft equipment. The hand pump is
also used for topping off of the
main floatation tubes, if required.
Raft canopy is stowed inside the
raft carrying case along with the
accessories, or equipment in all
assemblies.
