Each response is 150 words Response 1: It hasn’t been until recently that I have been thinking more and more about what my ideal or dream job would be. It has been quite invigorating thinking about what profession truly makes me happy and how I can find a way to make good money doing it. I am approaching my military retirement and now is the time to consider what that dream job would be and how I would set myself up to attain it. My dream job in a nut shell is owning and operating a bed and breakfast. I don’t think I ever would have thought this would be my dream job looking back but I started thinking about all the things that I love to do and what makes me happy. A few of them being: cooking for others, entertaining, meeting new people, the vision of owning my own business and being my own boss. One day as I pondered on these things it came to me; a bed and breakfast. To be honest, it was that and the litany of lifetime movies and romcoms I have seen in my lifetime. If I was able to own and operate a bed a breakfast I would be able to tap into the local community for an abundance of items and contribute to the community as a whole. I would source all of my toiletries and home items from local small business that make soaps, lotions, oils etc. I would tap into the local artists realm for advice on style and wall art to decorate the home. I would source most ,if not all, of the food & beverages used for the mini restaurant and bar from local farmers, wineries, breweries etc. I would also collaborate with the local entertainment and events coordinators to promote local business, food and bars scenes to all of the visitors who came in to stay. I would modernize the home as much as I could with green energy and also use it as a catalyst for education and conversation. The bed and breakfast would be more than just a place to stay while visiting a new city but a place where you didn’t want to leave because the city came to you. Hugo and Plunkett (2019) explain that most B&B owners implement a plethora of sustainable and socially responsible initiatives to their businesses- Up to 93% of B&B owners recycle, use low energy light bulbs and appliances, purchase locally and use environmentally friendly cleaning products. I feel like this idea could be cut and paste to most cities of attraction but I would love to do this in Tucson or Sedona Arizona or some other not quite so big western city of the US. Response 2: A supply chain manager is a lucrative job position that I greatly admire. Most supply chain managers work in industries such as defense, manufacturing, aerospace, and energy. As a profession in the supply chain department, I would prefer working in a company like iPhone. This is because of my passion for Tech. iPhone is a company well known for developing, designing, and selling computer software, electronics, and equipment. As a supply chain manager, roles include inventory control, transportation, management, analysis.
