The governance conundrum of powered micromobility devices: An in-depth case s...Araz Taeihagh
With the widespread adoption of powered micromobility devices like e-scooters for transportation in recent times, there have been many associated and potentially unknown risks. While these devices have been beneficial for commuters, managing these technological risks has been a key challenge for governments. This article presents an in-depth case study of Singapore, where these devices were adopted but were eventually banned from footpaths and public paths. We focus on identifying the technological risks and the governing strategies adopted and find that the Singaporean government followed a combination of governing strategies to address the risks of safety, liability, and switching to another transportation mode. The strategy of banning the devices was undertaken after active regulation and prudent monitoring. Based on the Singapore case, we offer policy recommendations for robust infrastructure and policy capacity, government stewardship and inclusive participatory policymaking for safe deployment, and simultaneous adoption of governing strategies to adopt these devices. The regulatory lessons from the case of Singapore can be insightful for policy discussions in other countries that have already adopted or are considering the introduction of powered micromobility devices.
Implementation of e-learning system readiness: The effect of the cost readine...AI Publications
The primary goal of this research is to examine and analyse the cost readiness factor as it relates to e-learning deployment in Kurdistan. The study will look at the cost efficiency and cost readiness factors that influence the successful adoption of an e-learning system, and propose prospective and long-term solutions that would go a long way toward overcoming cost obstacles in the future. The researchers used a quantitative research method to determine the cost readiness of e-learning implementation. The participants in this study were 516 people from Kurdistan's several private universities. The results demonstrated that cost preparedness has a large predictive value for e-learning and will have a direct positive relationship with it. The survey questions may not necessarily generalize to the greater community of instructors and administrative personnel at private colleges, which is one of the study's limitations.

2. The Indian transport sector is one of the most diverse and fast growing in the world. It contributes 5.5 percent to the
nation’s GDP. Fossil fuel based automobiles impact our environment. Green mobility is the only solution to minimize the
environmental impact caused by the transportation sector without impacting the growth momentum. The e-Vehicle market in
India has huge potential for growth. In addition, the government is providing lot of encouragement and incentivising electric
vehicles and mobility by 2030. Academic institutions in collaboration with Industries have a vital role to play in realizing this
ambitious plan by the government. In this connection Vellore Institute of Technology Chennai (VIT) is planning to hold a two
day electric Vehicles-Initiatives and Technologies - 2.0 Virtual Conclave (eVIT-2.0) on 23rd and 24th of October 2020. eVIT-2.0
will bring together key players from automotive industries and academic leaders from India and overseas to discuss various
initiatives, technology advancements, research and development (R&D) programs and policies that will impact future programs
of electric vehicles. The eVIT-2.0 Conclave will have sessions from both industry and academic experts discussing
technologies, policies, R&D, Strategies, barriers and future sustainability of business. The Conclave will serve as a knowledge
and best practice sharing platform and will draw participation from leading companies and organizations that are at the
forefront of Technology and Implementation as well as global thought leaders, experts, policy makers and the entire value
chain connected with this.
