In the golden era, the longing for a
better lifestyle has been the prime
agenda for multi-cultural
societies. In the eyes of communities,
the potential for a better quality of
distinct personality is interdependent
upon the quality of resources in
consumption.
The resources are available to augment
this generation are based on values,
norms, and ethics. While considering
an individual’s values, their conscience
desires the quality of guidance to
improve their status when aspiring for
a higher platform in the upcoming
trends worldwide, a very common and
generic question arises,
'Why is it essential to aim for higher
aspirations for better opportunities in
global diversity?'
Well! The answer is simple- 'For
generational evolution in the
contemporary global hierarchy.'
The Inception
With a sheer focus on grooming young
minds with skill-oriented and value-
based education, the KIET Group of
Institutions has turned out to be a
pioneer in the field of ground-breaking
or unorthodox learning approaches.
The Institute was established in 1998
with a dream to preserve and impart
quality education under the aegis of
Krishna Charitable Society, a non-
profit making organization (NGO). It is
affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar
Pradesh, and has been lately accredited
with NAAC 'A+' Grade.
Moreover, in a time span of 24 years, it
has named many accolades and
Education Excellence Awards under its
name, which acts as a testimony to the
fact that the Institute is among the top
engineering colleges in Delhi NCR.

And evolution is a very eminent step
for change in the industry, the
companies across the world are relying
on engineers who are setting the pace
for evolutionary trends in the industry.
Whereas the quality engineering
institutes are helping the industries to
keep to that pace of innovation.
One such Institute that is setting the
pace of innovation and evolution of the
industries is the KIET Group of
Institutions. Under the able guidance
of the Director of the college Dr. A
Garg, the institution is a flagbearer of
quality resources while promising the
aspirants the tools to innovate the
respective industries gracefully.
In an interactive conversation with The

infrastructure is another extension of
this fact. Its campus adorns all the
latest amenities and facilities,
including eight departmental libraries,
an air-conditioned cafeteria, a general
departmental store, an ATM facility,
and a medical facility, among various
others.
Additionally, a shift from the 'usual'
teaching pedagogies is what the
Institute believes in. Henceforth, they
aim to prepare global citizens by
honing students’ skills and giving them
exposure to foreign languages, events,

Intelligence & Machine Learning.
The Distinctive Honours
The Institute does not run on the
traditional methodology of producing
blank-headed bookworms. It rather
wants the young KIETians to explore
the world from a realistic point of view
without demeaning the value of
academics. Hence, to create a balance
between theoretical and practical
knowledge, the Institute has onboarded
PhD scholars with relevant industry
experience as faculty members. As
mentors, they help the students learn
and explore academic topics from both
subjective and realistic perspectives.
Also, they incorporated the latest and
innovative teaching methodology to
make teaching-learning interesting and
student-oriented. The use of ICT-based
teaching, including the usage of easily
portable tablets by their faculty
members, along with wi-fi internet
facility at the campus, facilitate the
faculty members as well as students to
access maximum online resources for
research activities.
The Universal Effect
A peaceful and joyful mind is the best
when it comes to productivity. This is
why the Institute has always promoted
the idea of creating student clubs,
which is the primary source of
recognizing the hidden talent of its
students. Be it dancing, singing,
dramatics, robotics, quizzes, poetry, or
working for a social cause, the Institute
is involved in a range of extracurricular
and co-curricular activities that make
its students different from others.

KIET boost its outreach and
development. As an academic leader,
his focus has always been to create
experienced engineers duly aligned
with the needs of Industry 4.0. It is the
result of his clear vision that the
Institute could lead change and earn
laurels of success in the name of the
KIET Group of Institutions.
The Future Prospects
The main priority of the esteemed
college is to prepare well-mannered
and learning students who excel not
just in academics but also in
extracurricular activities. The day they
will face the real world, they won't
hesitate or push themselves back, be it
any sort of challenge.
The college also strives to provide
quality education for all the latest
courses approved by the university. It's
been almost a year since the college
hesitating and create a student club in
a full-fledged manner. But, as the
Institute was clear about the fact that
they wanted to nurture the students as
lions, they started taking sessions on
how these activities would help them
create a confident personality in the
future," Dr. Garg said, highlighting the
balance of curricular and
extra-curricular activities at the
Institute.
"The Institute gave them complete
rights to request the Institute for any
support/help that is essential for
representing KIET on inter or intra
level. Today, the Institute does not need
to encourage students anymore. They
plan and coordinate the entire events
themselves, and the faculty is there just
for mental support and guidance,"
Dr. Garg further adds.
The Multi-Industrial Engagement
The Institute has set up numerous labs
through tie-ups such as D-link, Apple-
iOS University Program, e-Yantra
embedded systems, Paramsavak-
supercomputing facility, and Robotics
Lab to assist them in preparing
industry-ready professionals. Apart
from industry connections, they have
established cloud computing and
online learning (e-Learning), which
allows for easier sharing of data
between peers as well as students and
teachers.
Side-by-side, the Institute has
introduced foreign language programs
on German, Japanese, and Korean
languages so that language is never a
barrier to the students when they plan
to work overseas or deal with foreign
clients in India.
Furthermore, the Institute has created

civilization, inspiring
innovations that enhance the quality of
life and result in a profound change in
social structure. They assist with and
support initiatives that enhance the
economy.
Businesses need to become more
nimble because of how quickly
technology is developing. 87 per cent
of business leaders regard
digitalization as their top priority,
according to a Gartner survey.
However, the required operational,
technological, and human capabilities
must be developed to realize the
benefits of a fantastic digital business
vision fully.
The disruptive digital technologies
anticipated to grow significantly in the
following decade, both domestically
and globally, were identified through a
detailed examination by Boston
Consulting Group.
The internet of things (IoT), big data
analytics, robotic process automation
(RPA), cloud computing, 3D printing,
social and mobile, virtual reality, and
blockchain were among the
technologies the study highlighted as
having the potential to alter the
industry in the ensuing ten years
significantly. The study highlighted the
supplementary skills required for these
technologies and upcoming job roles.
Artificial Intelligence
It was propelled by machine learning,
computer vision, and the internet of
things, fast evolving as a powerful
general-purpose technology and is
being pursued widely across all major
sectors. It is one set of technologies
that is witnessing unprecedented levels
of investment across the world.
Internet of Things
From smart homes to driverless cars to
industrial, IoT is redefining how we
live. Like all digital technologies, the
price and performance of IoT
technologies is evolving at an
exponential rate. The result is to make
'the invisible visible at scale.' We can
track our physical context with
increasing granularity at ever-
expanding levels and dramatically
improve their performance.
Robotics
The demand for robots for personal
services and in many other industries,
including healthcare, safety, and
critical applications, is increasing.
Robot suppression will become a key
industry in the future.
Cyber Security
Strict data protection directives and
rising cyber terrorism drive the
cybersecurity market to increase.
Healthcare, BFSI, IT, and Telecom
industry verticals are expected to
expand the utility of cybersecurity.
Blockchain
Blockchain is another technology
attracting a lot of investments. Though
the technology hasn't reached a mature
stage, blockchain is touted as the
second generation of the internet and is
finding applications in BFSI,
healthcare, property management,
agriculture, governance, etc.
Quantum Engineering
Discoveries of quantum impact on
everything from nanotechnology to
biotechnological processes are
changing the outlook towards quantum
computing. We already have a few
degree-granting programs with names
like 'engineering physics,' but this is a
reasonably broad label. Engineers in
quantum engineering could work on
chip fabrication, quantum computers,
cryptography, nanotechnology, etc.
3D Printing and Design
3D printing is fast becoming
mainstream, with 3D printers being
imagined for applications ranging from
the manufacture of airplane wings to
buildings, while the cost of 3D printing
is falling substantially. With the rise of
3D printing as a manufacturing means,
the need for engineers who know how
to design for 3D printing will be high.
Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual
Reality (VR)
These two are becoming increasingly
popular trends in consumer electronics,
gaming, retail, industrial applications,
healthcare, social communications, etc.
It is predicted that augmented reality
will have one billion users by 2020.
The AR market is growing owing to its
software growth, while the VR market
is witnessing high growth due to its
hardware growth.
Future Trends of Engineering
Education
It gets essential to understand the
future direction of global engineering
education and identify the defining
trends to support positive educational
change and build the next-gen
engineering talent in the country.
Listed below are some of the trends
waving their way in engineering
education:
Shift to Quality Education at Scale
The next task in front of the nation is
to bring about a revolution in the
quality of engineering education at
scale under constrained budgets. There
lies the challenge and our ability to
innovate and adopt the latest trends in
curricula and pedagogy.
Shift to Student Centricity
Another pertinent shift in the waiting is
moving towards student centricity. Our
engineering education needs to cater to
millennials and centennials with low
attention spans effectively and expect
flexibility in learning. In the longer
run, some of the leading engineering
programs are moving towards
delivering integrated student-centred
learning at scale through a combination
of off-campus and on-campus
education that is personalized,
experiential, and flexible.
To sum up,
Engineering education in India will
look significantly different in the future
than it did in the past. Because of this,
more people will be aware of the
importance of engineers to society.
Engineers will also have more chances
to get employment and earn a
respectable livelihood. Students who
desire to pursue jobs in this industry
are living in an exciting time.

Universities cannot keep
ignoring their responsibility to
help students become
workforce-ready. Even if there is a gap
between what businesses desire and
what they seek, students continue to
study after high school to get
employment opportunities and earn
money. Career preparedness must be
prioritized because colleges are
entrusted to nurture of the talent of
future workers. Higher education is the
source of professional capabilities for
industry executives.

The Director's Message
RIT has developed an admirable
reputation among Indian engineering
institutes over the course of more than
three decades. With the ultimate goal
of student happiness, RIT emphasizes
providing students with a high-quality
education by involving and
empowering its teachers. The team
prioritizes both research and
knowledge generation at the same
time. Currently, the institute has 46
patents registered and six marketable

Importance
Education
The
The pursuit of education denotes man's
prominent status in society. The
requirement of the hour is fundamental
technology. It is crucial to keep up with
the pace of technological innovation in
today's environment. As has already
been observed, the human species has
made a slow but sure step towards
development with invention and the
emergence of a new technological
pioneer.
The technological revolution has
brought the 'impossible' within our
grasp and made it 'possible' by
encompassing all of the potential
spheres of human existence.
very human being has a
Efundamental need for
education. It began to exist
along with the human species and will
continue for as long as humans exist. It
is what gives us knowledge. A vital
human virtue is education. Education
helps a man develop into a 'man.'
Without education, man is an excellent
enslaved person with savage logic, as
has been observed with some
justification. The social side of man is
brought into sharper emphasis by
education.

Future Wave
The Knowledge Review | 29
The only real explanation for our
comfort and luxury about which we
take such pride is technical.
Without further ado, let's dive right in
and learn more!
Creative Aspect
Since the beginning of time, engineers
have made enormous advancements
and discoveries. Engineering might be
a fantastic choice for anyone who
wants to make an impact because it
incorporates concepts and reasoning.
Engineers must develop a fundamental
understanding of their professional
responsibilities.
An engineer should be interested and
have the desire to learn new things.
You won't be very interested in the
experiments if you only study science
for grades. There are so many uses for
the formulas and concepts that it is
unlikely you would want to pursue a
career in them.
Engineers need to have a solid
awareness of their duties as
professionals. One of the rare fields
where creativity and engineering
coexist is engineering. Its appeal can
be attributed to its originality and
creativity. Between 2010 and 2020,
engineering geologists can anticipate a
21 per cent increase in employment,
according to the Bureau of Labour
Statistics.
Designer at Mind
The world's architects and constructors
are engineers. Engineering is believed
to be a style of thinking rather than just
a degree. Even if the number of
engineers in India has increased
recently, there is still a continuing need
for qualified engineers. The appeal of
engineering is that it may not only lead
to new opportunities in a variety of
fields but also to lucrative salaries. For
students, there are several employment
options available with an engineering
degree.
An engineer is a qualified professional
who develops engineered systems for
the good of humanity. They create
designs, products, and services that
support socioeconomic and human
development in various ways.
Personal Involvement
The most effective technique is each
engineer's involvement in
incorporating safety, public welfare,
professional ethics, legal concerns,
environmental obligations, quality, and
communications into the problem-
solving processes that all utilize
regularly.
Design for manufacturing, design for
reliability, design for maintainability,
design for assembly, design for
environment, plan for safety, design for
economics, etc., are all included in the
concurrent process.
Curve for Innovation
The potential for technical innovation
to support brand-new, specific
businesses are limitless. Building
construction, producing materials for
handicrafts, the horticultural sector,
and extracting pharmaceuticals and
perfumes.
Constructing educational institutions,
mini, micro, and macro hydroelectric
power plants, computer software and
hardware, production of electronic
goods and daily food products,
development of faster transportation
facilities, drainage and sewerage
facilities, solid waste disposal schemes
for towns and cities, sanitation
projects, and the protection of water
bodies are just a few of the engineering
tasks that call for expert engineering
services.
Knowledge of the Latest Trends
Engineers need more than top-notch
technical and scientific abilities to
succeed and advance prosperity. They
must assist us in making wise choices
when allocating large quantities of
time, money, and human resources to
collective goals in a world that are
becoming more competitive. Engineers
are experts at both doing things
correctly and doing the right thing.
They must possess a broad, all-
encompassing background to do this.
Engineering education must be
integrative since engineering itself is
an integrative activity.
Engineers know that proficiency in
science and mathematics is essential
for career success. However, the
'functional core of engineering' must
also be experienced by engineering
students. The thrill of taking up an
unending challenge and inventing
something new. Education requires
taking part in the creation of a new
product by fusing seemingly unrelated
talents.
To sum up,
Engineers are typically thought of as
persons who apply scientific
discoveries to real-world situations. We
must train engineers who are leaders
who comprehend the science
underlying their proposed solutions
and the people, problems, and systems
they intend to influence.

Turning Engineers into Magicians
Innovation is a product of several
failed experiments and one
successful presentation.
Innovation takes inspiration from an
undefined idea and creates wonders for
the world. And stating the importance
of these experiments and a person's
journey with them, Albert Einstein
once said, "No amount of
experimentation can prove me right; a
single experiment can prove me
wrong."
But who are these people who
experiment a lot? Noble professions
like doctors and scientists will
definitely show up. However, there is
one name that probably does the
greatest number of failed experiments
and still has the passion for trying one
more time and giving out the final
result.
Engineers, you probably must have
guessed it right, and the due credit for
their tried and tested experiments are
often less talked about. As, if shown a
man the current cell phones the world
is using, it would be a magic trick for
him. Putting this into the right words,
Elon Musk said, "Engineering is the
closest thing to magic that exists in the
world."
This is indeed true, connecting the dots
looking backwards. And the most
prominent engineering colleges across
the world are training young minds to
become the modern-day magician of
their predecessors.
One such institute in India's lush
landscapes is the Vellore Institute of
Technology, VIT. Today, VIT is one of
the finest engineering institutes to
study engineering in the country and is
aspired by many students worldwide.
In an exchange of words with Dr. G
Viswanathan Chancellor
, the of VIT
shares some insightful intricacies of
the adopted pedagogies. Apart from
that, he also shares the journey of the
institute and maps down the track for
the future.
So, let's dive deep into the eccentric
journey of VIT!
The Inception Story
The inception story of VIT is more like
a bridge between quality higher
education and the modern world in the
west. Since its inception, VIT has
always sought to provide the highest
quality education for students across
the world. Over the years, the school
has also adopted various innovative
methods to improve the education
standard and create a cosmopolitan
atmosphere for students from all
corners of the globe.

teaching and research in its relentless
pursuit of excellence. In fact, the
institute has made this the way of life
for everyone and motivates youngsters
to pursue more. Apart from that, the
Memoranda of Understanding with
various international universities is the
strength that the university immensely
takes pride in while creating a loop of
opportunities for student exchange
programs and joint research projects
for the mutual benefit of students and
universities.
Moreover, the VIT campus is spread
across a vast area of 372 acres and has
state-of-the-art infrastructure to house
and provide sufficient for both students

many auditoriums, plush open spaces,
outdoor stages and many more.
Academically, VIT offers 40
undergraduate programs, 37 post-
graduate programs and 13 integrated
programs and also follows a 'Fully
Flexible Credit System (FFCS)' for
course registration by the students.
An Extensive Pedagogical Approach
Understanding the importance of
practice and experimentation for
grooming students to become not just
engineers but magicians, VIT has
adopted a uniquely curated learning
pedagogy for its students. Explaining
this, Dr. Viswanathan says, "VIT has
been extensively following the Project
Based Learning (PBL) pedagogy. The
implementation of PBL has facilitated
hands-on learning and resulted in
substantially enhancing the higher
order thinking skills of students."
Some of the important learnings from
this extensive PBL pedagogies are:
Ÿ Provides a strong context for
learning new ideas and concepts
Ÿ Enables accelerated learning and
facilitates higher-order thinking
Ÿ Appeals to slow learners and
motivates them to perform well
Ÿ Reduces the gap between theory
and practical applications.
A Perfect Equilibrium of Quality
Education
The curriculum curated by VIT for
students was developed to serve the
students with extensive knowledge and
upskill them properly. And even the
institute management agrees that
maintaining that equilibrium is a tough
task, but the school management has
effectively put up their dedication and
assured the maintenance of a smooth
knowledge flow for its students.

Importance Education The The pursuit ofeducation denotes man's prominent status in society. The requirement of the hour is fundamental technology. It is crucial to keep up with the pace of technological innovation in today's environment. As has already been observed, the human species has made a slow but sure step towards development with invention and the emergence of a new technological pioneer. The technological revolution has brought the 'impossible' within our grasp and made it 'possible' by encompassing all of the potential spheres of human existence. very human being has a Efundamental need for education. It began to exist along with the human species and will continue for as long as humans exist. It is what gives us knowledge. A vital human virtue is education. Education helps a man develop into a 'man.' Without education, man is an excellent enslaved person with savage logic, as has been observed with some justification. The social side of man is brought into sharper emphasis by education. |January 2023 28 of

The only realexplanation for our comfort and luxury about which we take such pride is technical. Without further ado, let's dive right in and learn more! Creative Aspect Since the beginning of time, engineers have made enormous advancements and discoveries. Engineering might be a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to make an impact because it incorporates concepts and reasoning. Engineers must develop a fundamental understanding of their professional responsibilities. An engineer should be interested and have the desire to learn new things. You won't be very interested in the experiments if you only study science for grades. There are so many uses for the formulas and concepts that it is unlikely you would want to pursue a career in them. Engineers need to have a solid awareness of their duties as professionals. One of the rare fields where creativity and engineering coexist is engineering. Its appeal can be attributed to its originality and creativity. Between 2010 and 2020, engineering geologists can anticipate a 21 per cent increase in employment, according to the Bureau of Labour Statistics. Designer at Mind The world's architects and constructors are engineers. Engineering is believed to be a style of thinking rather than just a degree. Even if the number of engineers in India has increased recently, there is still a continuing need for qualified engineers. The appeal of engineering is that it may not only lead to new opportunities in a variety of fields but also to lucrative salaries. For students, there are several employment options available with an engineering degree. An engineer is a qualified professional who develops engineered systems for the good of humanity. They create designs, products, and services that support socioeconomic and human development in various ways. Personal Involvement The most effective technique is each engineer's involvement in incorporating safety, public welfare, professional ethics, legal concerns, environmental obligations, quality, and communications into the problem- solving processes that all utilize regularly. Design for manufacturing, design for reliability, design for maintainability, design for assembly, design for environment, plan for safety, design for economics, etc., are all included in the concurrent process. Curve for Innovation The potential for technical innovation to support brand-new, specific businesses are limitless. Building construction, producing materials for handicrafts, the horticultural sector, and extracting pharmaceuticals and perfumes. Constructing educational institutions, mini, micro, and macro hydroelectric power plants, computer software and hardware, production of electronic goods and daily food products, development of faster transportation facilities, drainage and sewerage facilities, solid waste disposal schemes for towns and cities, sanitation projects, and the protection of water bodies are just a few of the engineering tasks that call for expert engineering services. Knowledge of the Latest Trends Engineers need more than top-notch technical and scientific abilities to succeed and advance prosperity. They must assist us in making wise choices when allocating large quantities of time, money, and human resources to collective goals in a world that are becoming more competitive. Engineers are experts at both doing things correctly and doing the right thing. They must possess a broad, all- encompassing background to do this. Engineering education must be integrative since engineering itself is an integrative activity. Engineers know that proficiency in science and mathematics is essential for career success. However, the 'functional core of engineering' must also be experienced by engineering students. The thrill of taking up an unending challenge and inventing something new. Education requires taking part in the creation of a new product by fusing seemingly unrelated talents. To sum up, Engineers are typically thought of as persons who apply scientific discoveries to real-world situations. We must train engineers who are leaders who comprehend the science underlying their proposed solutions and the people, problems, and systems they intend to influence. |January 2023 30

Vellore Institute ofTechnology Turning Engineers into Magicians Innovation is a product of several failed experiments and one successful presentation. Innovation takes inspiration from an undefined idea and creates wonders for the world. And stating the importance of these experiments and a person's journey with them, Albert Einstein once said, "No amount of experimentation can prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong." But who are these people who experiment a lot? Noble professions like doctors and scientists will definitely show up. However, there is one name that probably does the greatest number of failed experiments and still has the passion for trying one more time and giving out the final result. Engineers, you probably must have guessed it right, and the due credit for their tried and tested experiments are often less talked about. As, if shown a man the current cell phones the world is using, it would be a magic trick for him. Putting this into the right words, Elon Musk said, "Engineering is the closest thing to magic that exists in the world." This is indeed true, connecting the dots looking backwards. And the most prominent engineering colleges across the world are training young minds to become the modern-day magician of their predecessors. One such institute in India's lush landscapes is the Vellore Institute of Technology, VIT. Today, VIT is one of the finest engineering institutes to study engineering in the country and is aspired by many students worldwide. In an exchange of words with Dr. G Viswanathan Chancellor , the of VIT shares some insightful intricacies of the adopted pedagogies.
