This document discusses dyskinetic cerebral palsy (CP) from a social and cultural perspective in Bangladesh. It provides demographic information about Bangladesh and discusses the prevalence of disability, including CP. Two case scenarios are presented: a 2-year-old boy living in an urban area who receives treatment at a tertiary medical center, and a 10-year-old boy from a rural area who was assisted by an NGO and now attends a developmental center. Barriers to treatment are explored, such as lack of awareness, financial burden, and social stigma. The document also notes challenges faced by those with disabilities in Bangladesh and the strengths of existing laws and programs to support disabled individuals.
