The Bank Nifty index rallied over 3.5% last week and closed at its highest level, led by gains in State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank. The Nifty 50 index also closed strongly above its weekly breakout level of 8,306. Several sectors performed well including metals and mining, transportation and logistics, and fertilizers.

Indian Market Outlook: Bank Nifty rallied 3.50% this week made high of 18966 and closed at 18912.
All three high weighted banks SBI, HDFC Bank and ICICI bank rallied 2.03%, 3.25% and 3.83%
respectively.
Benchmark Index Nifty closed strongly above its weekly breakout level of 8306 at 8400, immediate
target for the index is at 8461 above which if further breakout happens next target is 8598.
Small Cap Index rallied 3.05% this week and made new weekly high of 6267 and closed at 6248.
Two IT major TCS and INFY announced its result for third Quarter 2016-17, both the company posted
marginally positive result. Infosys cut its USD revenue guidance to 7.2-7.6% from 7.5-8.5%.

In cash segment, last trading week, FII have sold shares worth Rs. 1104 Cr and DII bought
shares worth Rs. 882.75 Cr., combined sell of Rs. 221 Cr for this week.
In Index Options, last trading week, FII have bought 44385 contracts. Pro have bought 95778
contracts. Combined, there has been a net buy of 140163 contracts.
In Index Futures, last trading week, FII have bought 24868 contracts. Pro have sold 24491
contracts. Combined, there has been a net buy of 377 contracts.

S&P is trading in a narrow range of 50 points
from 2228 to 2278. Yesterday S&P closed at
2272 chasing its all time high of 2278.
Employment climbed by 156,000 jobs in
December, while expectation was for an
increase of about 175,000 jobs.
German Index Dax closed at 11619 near it's
range high level of 11650.
JPMorgan Chase (JPM) reported better than
expected fourth quarter results on both the
top and bottom lines.
Bank of America (BAC) too reported it's
fourth quarter earnings that beat analyst
estimates, hpwever its revenues for the
quarter came in slightly below expectations.
