1. Dutchman Poster(s)
This assignment was to create a
piece of media to echo the
movie, “Dutchman (1674)”,
written by Amiri Baraka.
After watched the movie several
times, I decided to focus on a
specific theme in this movie to
focus on. And my theme was the
“missing piece”, which indicated
that people often trying to
assimilate other people to feel
better and gradually lost their
own identity. Therefore, I want
theses series of posters to play a
role to convey people that we
were unique enough that did not
require to assimilate anyone to
become better.
I made the posters black and
white since the movie was black
and white. All the images were
different scenes from the movie
and had different symbolism in
each pieces.
