This document summarizes a study on utilizing tannery waste from the leather industry in Tamil Nadu, India in concrete production. Tamil Nadu accounts for 70% of India's leather exports and the tannery industry produces significant waste. The study partially replaces fine aggregate in concrete with chrome dust, a byproduct from chrome tanning. The concrete production process and mix designs using chrome dust are described. Results showed the concrete with chrome dust has greater durability and strength while being more economical and environmentally friendly compared to traditional concrete.
