9. THE ESTATE
Buildings are dated from 1850. Until the end of the World War II, the whole estate
belonged to the Count Donhoff ’s family. To this day, only two buildings have survived from
the original estate. The neo-gothic architecture of the buildings is very unique in the world.

11. DROGOSZE HISTORY
The property has a long standing Eastern Prussia history and its architecture is
unique not only in Poland but also in Europe. The property consists of 13
hectares of land and 2 existing heritage listed buildings. Both buildings were
constructed in 1850 by the famous Prussian family the Von Donhoffs. Drogosze
is located in Poland in the Warmia & Mazury region, previously East Prussia. The
first mentioning of Drogosze comes from 1361 when Conrad Wolfsdorf was the
first owner. From 1477 Drogosze was owned by the Count Rautter’s family and
from the 17th century Count Donhoff ”s family became owners. The members of
Donhoff ’s lineage had been known as advisors to kings of Poland including
Sobieski, Wladyslaw IV and Jan Kazimierz. In 1816 the last male line member of
the Von Donhoff ’s, Stanislaw, died in a duel. Drogosze’s ownership went to his
sister Angelica zu Dohna-Luck who in turn passed it to her cousin Countess
Marianne Stolberg-Wernigerode. Drogosze was owned by this family until the
end of 1945.

Donhoff ’s estates consisted 50 hectares, including the Palace, stables, lakes and parks.

14. ARCHITECTURE OF DROGOSZE
Till the end of 1950’s the Donhoff ’s stables complex consisted of 3 neo-Gothic
buildings. Over the next 15 years two of them were destroyed. The surviving part of
the barn will be renovated and serve as a model to restore damaged buildings.

17. THE CURRENT STATE OF INTERIORS
Neo-Gothic architecture, the monumentality of the buildings and its components
(rosette above the entrance has a diameter of 3m) is an excellent basis for the
creation of the very high standard hotel with unique character.

The old forge, in the future can serve as an additional hotel or Spa facility.

Some of the land will be allocated to horse riding area, golf driving range and gardens.
