2. Goals For You
- Figure course learning objectives.
- Work with the students, to figure out how to relate the specific jobs to their
goals.
- Providing the Intern an engaging and enriching experience through Diversity
Programing and mentorship.
- Assist the students through their goals after the internship, skills for
professionalism, and after graduation (Mentorship).
3. Qualifications
- UW Tacoma Student
- Quarter
- Holds an average 2.5 gpa
- Available for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors
- Open to all majors (duties will be specific to those in Marketing)
- Must go through the internship policies through UW Tacoma ( Meet with Julie Miller, the Internship
Program Manager)
- Must be able to communicate well with other in a team and independently.
4. Weekly Meetings
- Weekly meetings with Jo and/or Robbie to ensure the
values and goals of the internship are met.
- Sign off weekly logs
- Mentorship
- Further assistance with major programming.
5. Major Programming Events
- MLK
- GlobalFest
- Native American Symp.
- Multicultural Graduation
- Tribute to Our Troops
- I AM NOT Campaign
- Diversity Summit
6. Team Building
- Be able to work with the other DRC student assistants
through their programing and being their right-hand or
“committee member”.
- Work with Linda, Jo, and Robbie
through different programs.
7. EMBRACE
- Must sign up for an EMBRACE session, which they will be active participants
and write reflections on canvas.
- *If they have already completed EMBRACE, they can become an assistant
with Ricky and work with him through sessions.
8. Readings
- Robbie will assign readings related on their
major and course objectives.

- Research on new ideas for the DRC

* What are other Universities/Colleges doing?
* What are different ways we can improve or change
up
some programing.
10. Host 1 Event & Collaborations

* Work with some of the Registered Student Organizations on campus or outside community
organizations to build a stronger relationship through the DRC.
11. Spring Quarter
- Work with Jo, Robbie, and Linda through
the hiring, application, and training process
for the new team for the following year.

Robbie & Jo,
Thank you so much for being such great internship site supervisors. I
have learned so much and I am truly grateful for all your mentorship, support,
and guidance. All the skills and knowledge I’ve gained from this experience, will
be carried on after graduation. I hope that this powerpoint will help the next
future interns and that they have the same amazing experience like I did.
