This document provides instructions for an exercise in intuitive drawing for sculpture. Students will be shown words or objects for 1 minute each and will create abstract drawings in response without lifting their drawing tool from the page. The goal is to explore free imagination and intuitive artistic ability without overthinking the outcome. Examples of drawings by sculptors are provided to demonstrate how drawing can help develop ideas for 3D designs and spatial concepts.

2. Objective
• For this project you will be exploring your intuitive artistic ability. You
will be reacting to subject that show on the slides, you will not know
exactly how it will turn out until you are finished. Deciding when you
are finished will also be a challenge.

3. Why it is important?
Sculptors/3D designers are also drawers to plan a design.
Drawing leads artists towards a free imagination.
Design leads free imagination to transform a communicative form
3D design practice leads artists to engage with an actual space.

• Each word/object/sounds will be shown for 1min.
• Draw at least 1 drawing in 1 minute.
• Do not stop your hand, Keep drawing, drawing, drawing!
• You may draw multiple drawings in one subject but do not continue
to draw for one subject.
• NO figurative or representational
