related to the importance of the nature.
During the meeting, you will work with your international groups. There will be 8 groups and each
group will have 3 students. We have divided the drama activities into 3 different section. The first one is
drama groups (3 acting groups), the second one is a fact group and the last one is competition groups
(2 main and 4 sub groups).
And, I would like to thank to Mrs. Bengi HURRIYETOGLU and Ms. Çiğdem ÇOLAKOĞLU who
are English teachers and have written the drama texts and prepared these wonderful activities for all

The students must memorize in the following informations before coming to Turkey.
 Plants on the surface of the Earth have existed for around 400 million years.
 Rainforests used to cover 14% of the Earth’s surface but due to deforestation now only cover
around 6%.
 Every minute, forests the size of 20 football fields are cut down.
 More than 25% of our medicines today come from rainforest plants. We have only explored 1%
of the plants available. Just imagine what diseases the 99% that have not been explored can cure!
 Every day 50 to 100 species of plants and animals become extinct as their habitat and human
activities destroy them.
 27.000 trees are cut down each day so we can have toilet paper.
 When you throw plastic bags and other plastic materials in the ocean,it kills as many as 1 million
sea creatures annually.
 A glass bottle will take more than 4000 years to decompose.
 Recycling a single aluminium can will save enough electricity to power a TV for 3 hours.
 Only 1% of plastic shopping bags are recycled. All newspapers in the U.K. are 100% recycled
paper.
 Although it’s often assumed that logging is the main reason for deforestation, agriculture is the
1st cause .
 12 to 17% of the annual greenhouse gas emissions are due to the loss of forests.

 It’s estimated that every square mile of ocean has more than 45.000 pieces of plastic floating in
it.
 By recycling just the Sunday newspaper,75.000 trees are saved.250 million trees would be saved
if all newspapers were recycled all year.
 On average, each person produces about four pounds of garbage each day. That equals 1.5 tons of
solid waste each year.
 There’s more CO2 in the atmosphere today than at any point in the last 800.000 years.
 Since 1870,global sea levels have risen by about 8 inches(just over 20 cm).That’s actually a lot,
even though it doesn’t sound like much.
 The last two decades of the 20th century were the hottest in 400 years.
 Ice at Arctic is disappearing fast.By 2040 the region may have first completely ice-free summer.
 Glaciers and mountain snows are increasingly melting. For instance,The Glacier National Park at
Montana now has just 27 glaciers, which were 150 in 1910.
 Global warming will affect Norway the least and the country of Chad the most.
 Due to global warming, the Amazon forest is turning into desert and the Sahara is becoming
greener.

A. Fabryne Rebeka De Melo Albuquerque (Italy)
B. Sıla Büberci (Turkey)
C. Klaudia Rudzka (Poland)
A: What’s the matter with you?
B: Today I’ve learnt something shocking.
A: What is it?
B: People used to do exercise outside without an oxygen mask a thousand years ago. Can you believe
that?!!
A: You are joking!!!
C: She’s right. They also went walking in the parks and had picnics in the woods.
A: What is woods? Are you kidding me? We can have picnics only in common rooms.
C: There were things called trees which provided oxygen gas naturally.
A: Naturally? !That’s incredible and it sounds old-fashioned. Now we can control gases.
B: Yeah! It’s so ridiculous. We’re so lucky we have these machines which supply us whatever we want.
C: Agree! You need years to grow a tree to create oxygen. Funny! Anyway, they had hard lives.
B: Guys! I’m starving. Anyone who wants capsules? I wonder what’s for dinner.
C: I hope it’s the blue one, my favourite.
B: Hey! Let’s have a picnic in the common room and be grateful for the technology we have.
C: Ha,ha! Great idea!

A. Luca Patuzzi (Italy)
B. Carla Patrícia Gomes Matos (Portugal)
C. Ceren Ufakacar (Turkey)
A: Kids! Who wants to tell me what will happen in the world in 50 years’ time?
B: I’m afraid there will be a big global warming problem and ice will melt in the Poles.
C: I don’t agree. The weather gets colder every year, global warming is rubbish.
A: Do you mean global warming is a lie?
C: Sure! I think people must worry about other things.
A: Interesting. What are they?
C: Travelling to other planets for example.
B: Why should people travel to other planets?
C: I hope we can find a warmer place to live.
A: Ahh! Do you think global warming is a lie because you feel cold?!!
C: Of course. I can’t believe in warming if I don’t feel it.
B: So strange! I think you should read more about our world or wear warmer clothes. Don’t you think
we should try to save our world first?
A: OK guys! Ithink we should discuss the topic after the weekend because I’ve decided on your
weekend homework: ‘The Effects of Global Warming’

The students must memorize their own sections also must know the thier partners sections, too. And,
please work on the vocabulary, too.
A. Birkancan Demirtaş
B. Ana Carolina da Costa Araújo (Portugal)
C. Anna Sutkowska (Poland)
A: Do you think these clothes will help save the eco-system?
B: I’ve read about it some where. If you want a natural life, you must start from your body.
C: And we always put something on our body. Other clothes are all made of unhealthy materials.
A: What are these made of?
B: Paper. And paper is made of wood.
C: So they are natural.
A: How can they protect us from the cold and rain? I don’t understand. And they smell odd.
B: But we cannot wash them, can we? We must find something for it.
C: Why don’t we wear some perfume?
A: Oh come on! Are you sure it’s the right way to save the environment?
B: Relax! We’ll get used to it.
C: Look! The’re so comfortable.
A: Are they? I can’t move in them. Why don’t we try something else.
B: You can even dance in them. Look!
A: Oh dear!!

Carmen Álvarez Rodríguez (Spain) B. Karolina Marciniak (Poland) C. Lucas García (Spain) The students must memorize in the following informations before coming to Turkey.  Plants on the surface of the Earth have existed for around 400 million years.  Rainforests used to cover 14% of the Earth’s surface but due to deforestation now only cover around 6%.  Every minute, forests the size of 20 football fields are cut down.  More than 25% of our medicines today come from rainforest plants. We have only explored 1% of the plants available. Just imagine what diseases the 99% that have not been explored can cure!  Every day 50 to 100 species of plants and animals become extinct as their habitat and human activities destroy them.  27.000 trees are cut down each day so we can have toilet paper.  When you throw plastic bags and other plastic materials in the ocean,it kills as many as 1 million sea creatures annually.  A glass bottle will take more than 4000 years to decompose.  Recycling a single aluminium can will save enough electricity to power a TV for 3 hours.  Only 1% of plastic shopping bags are recycled. All newspapers in the U.K. are 100% recycled paper.  Although it’s often assumed that logging is the main reason for deforestation, agriculture is the 1st cause .  12 to 17% of the annual greenhouse gas emissions are due to the loss of forests.

C: Ha,ha! C: Travelling to other planets for example. B: Why should people travel to other planets? C: I hope we can find a warmer place to live. A: Ahh! Do you think global warming is a lie because you feel cold?!! C: Of course. I can’t believe in warming if I don’t feel it. B: So strange!
