psychotherapist. She is the author of Emotional Trauma in School: Cause. Effect. Cure, which is an analysis of
teacher/student relationship and how it impacts overall cognitive development. Her most recent publication,
Therapeutic Application of Biblical Principles for Overcoming Emotional Trauma is the cure referenced in her
first book.. It is an interactive tool that will help anyone seeking to overcome emotional trauma that has oc-
curred in their life.
She developed and directed a Healing Hearts Ministry that offered hope and healing to rape and incest survi-
vors with overwhelming success!

conference designed straight from the heart
of a local woman. Dr. Mary G. Patton, a
retired educator and Christian psychothera-
pist, is reaching out to heal the hurt of those
suffering emotionally with a conference titled
after her workbook, “Therapeutic Applica-
tion of Biblical Principles for Overcoming
Emotional Trauma:” Healing The Hurt,
Cause. Effect. Cure. This 4- hour intensive
workshop is designed to walk victims of emotional trauma through their anguish and
pain and put them on the road to lasting recovery.
Dr. Patton asserts that her conference will help attendees to uncover, identify, con-
front, and manage their emotions associated with past trauma. She further asserts that
the principles and techniques presented in the conference will provide tools to heal the
hurt of past trauma and lead to improved quality of life and relationships with others.
Even though the workbook was written to address abuse trauma, the lessons are ap-
propriate for any trauma experience because the body processes emotional pain the
same regardless of its origin.
She has used the principles and techniques outlined in her workbook (which will be
used as conference material), for over 14 years with extraordinary success! Dr. Patton
has an empathetic nature that cannot be called anything other than a gift from God.
This gift has helped her connect with people of various ages and cultures, and can be
felt when reading through the pages of her workbook which is changing lives! Dr. Pat-
ton is also the author of Emotional Trauma in School: Cause, Effect, Cure.
Dr. Mary G. Patton has a Ph. D. degree in Education Counseling, and a Master’s de-
gree in Counseling Psychology. She served in education for 35 years prior to her suc-
cessful 10 year career as a Christian psychotherapist. Dr. Patton currently serves her
local church, Brown Missionary Baptist, 980 Stateline Road as a volunteer; she works
with the Sister-To-Sister Mentoring, Greeters, Seniors and Sunday School Ministries.
