Goals
● All courses will be reviewed and certificated with the “quality” designation by
2025.
● At least 90% of courses will be certified with the “high quality” designation by
2025.
● All eligible courses will maintain quality status through recertification by
2025.
● A minimum of 45 courses will be certified each academic year through 2025.
● USFSP Teaching Online Certification program will be developed by Fall
2018.
● All Faculty teaching online will complete certification prior to 2025.
● A plan will be developed for the maintenance of quality and faculty online
teaching certification beyond 2025.

Benefits
● Increased emphasis on quality will ensure courses are aligned and
engaging.
● Opportunity to ensure course, department, and degree learning
objective align.
● Implementation of quality standards has been shown to promote
student success and retention and improve course survey ratings.
● This plan will ensure we will meet the Board of Governors’ 2025
Strategic Plan Quality requirements.
● Obtaining quality certifications for online courses and programs will
make them more appealing to potential students.
● Implementation of this plan, with our focus on “high quality”
designations, will allow us to continue to be a leader in quality within
the USF System.

BOG’s 2025 Plan - BOG’s Strategic Plan for Online Education - Quality, Access and Affordability - Instructor – Best practices emphasize quality in the design, development, and delivery of the courses and the professional development of the instructor - Program – Best practices foster high student success rates, low withdrawal rates, and high student and faculty satisfaction levels - Institution – Best practices address the technology infrastructure, resources for course design and delivery, student support services, and ongoing assessment Mandatory online course and faculty certification by 2025!

USFSP within the USF System - Leading with QM certifications - 31 certified courses - 17 faculty participated in peer reviews - Leading with professional development - 4 certified QM Workshop facilitators (online and face-to-face) - 233 attendees for QM trainings - Leading with research - Present at annual QM conference and webinar series - Publish research around quality standards - Leading through system collaboration - Guidance on review processes - Professional development partnership - Resource and information sharing

What’s Next? - USFSP Course Certification Plan - USFSP Teaching Online Certification Goals ● All courses will be reviewed and certificated with the “quality” designation by 2025. ● At least 90% of courses will be certified with the “high quality” designation by 2025. ● All eligible courses will maintain quality status through recertification by 2025. ● A minimum of 45 courses will be certified each academic year through 2025. ● USFSP Teaching Online Certification program will be developed by Fall 2018. ● All Faculty teaching online will complete certification prior to 2025. ● A plan will be developed for the maintenance of quality and faculty online teaching certification beyond 2025. 90% of SUS courses in the FLVC catalog rated high quality

Benefits ● Increased emphasis on quality will ensure courses are aligned and engaging. ● Opportunity to ensure course, department, and degree learning objective align. ● Implementation of quality standards has been shown to promote student success and retention and improve course survey ratings. ● This plan will ensure we will meet the Board of Governors’ 2025 Strategic Plan Quality requirements. ● Obtaining quality certifications for online courses and programs will make them more appealing to potential students. ● Implementation of this plan, with our focus on “high quality” designations, will allow us to continue to be a leader in quality within the USF System.
