Alice Hardiman is a new acoustic artist who reveals details about her past influences, current work, and future aspirations in her music career. She began singing at a young age as a way to express herself. Her family encouraged her musical talent, fueling her determination to succeed as an artist. Currently still in university, Alice aims to finish her studies while focusing on her music. She looks up to artist Emile Sandé and hopes to one day perform in larger venues. Alice handles feedback positively and advises aspiring artists to take their time writing meaningful songs.

F
rom a very young age
singing was an impor-
tant aspect in Alice’s life
and she says ‘it was an
easy way of expressing
myself and felt a sense of freedom
when I started singing’. The Hardi-
man family encouraged Alice to
pursue her talent further and this is
where her determination came from
to become a successful artist.
Alice reveals that she not only
likes to write her own songs but she
also does covers too, as she says she
‘likes to put her own style and her
own spin on a song’. Some of Alice’s
own music is quite meaningful and
can tell it comes from her own life
experiences however she says that
she finds covers easier to do and
putting her unique style on popular
songs makes her feel inspired to
write her own songs. She gets her
inspiration to write her own music
by looking back at her own experi-
ences and her friends and family.
What does 2017 have in store for
Alice? As she is still studying at
university some of her main aims
are to finish her studies and to
focus all her time on her music and
aspires to be like a particular suc-
cessful artist, Emile Sandé.
Alice says that she aspires to be
like thispopular artist as she likes
her style of singing and the way she
presents herself.
Whilst preforming in small ven-
ues like pubs Alice says that in the
future she would love to preform
her music in bigger arenas but for
now she says that she likes playing
her music in small venues as she can
engage with the audience and get
feedback and how she can improve
her performances.
As she thrives for feedback we
asked Alice how she handles the
feedback ‘I think I handle feedback
in a very positive way as I always
like to know how I can improve and
how to be more successful in the fu-
ture. As Alice is working harder and
harder each day ‘AcousticOne’ asked
her what her advice would be for an
aspiring artist.
‘It takes time to create good
music and to gain full confidence to
share your music so do not rush the
song writing process as this is
where it all starts. Find something
that means a lot to you and then
write about that as I have found
that most of the songs that I have
written have come from what means
the most to me.’
