Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky
Russian:
November 1821 – 9 February 1881
Russian novelist, short story writer,
essayist, journalist and philosopher.

Dostoyevsky's literary works explore human psychology
in the troubled political, social, and spiritual atmosphere of
19th-century Russia.
Many of his works are marked by a
preoccupation with Christianity, explored through
the prism of the individual confronted with
life's hardships and beauty.

He began writing in his 20s, and his first novel,
Poor Folk, was published in 1846 when he was 25.
His major works include Crime and Punishment (1866),
The Idiot (1869), Demons (1872) and
The Brothers Karamazov (1880).
His output consists of 11 novels, three novellas,
17 short novels and numerous other works.
Many literary critics rate him as
one of the greatest psychologists in world literature.

His books have been translated into more than 170 languages.
Dostoyevsky influenced a multitude of writers and
philosophers, from Anton Chekhov and
Ernest Hemingway to
Friedrich Nietzsche and Jean-Paul Sartre.

Crime and Punishment focuses on the mental anguish and
moral dilemmas of Rodion Raskolnikov, an impoverished
ex-student in St. Petersburg who formulates and executes
a plan to kill an unscrupulous pawnbroker for her cash.
Raskolnikov, in attempts to defend his actions, argues that
with the pawnbroker's money he can perform good deeds to
counterbalance the crime, while ridding the world of a vermin.

the characteristics of the "spiritual body" in which the Apostle

Raskolnikov murders the old woman and sets off
a chain of tragedies.

By chance, Lisaveta is at home, and Raskolnikov
murders her too.
A peasant who worked in the house where the old woman live:
confesses to the crime, and another life is nearly ruined.
When Raskolnikov ~ mother finds out what happened, she
goes mad and dies.

Later; while he is sick, Raskolnikov has strange
dreams in which he finds that others besides
himself have the right to decide the fates of others, and all
people destroy each.other like "cockroaches," like "lice."
The whole world is a victim of some terrible unseen and
unheard of plague, which goes to Europe from the heart of
Asia .... Some new trichinas have appeared, some
microscopic beings implanting themselves in people's bodies.
The people who had received them went crazy at once ...

Everybody was anxious and did not understand
the others ....
They did not know whom and how to judge, what was good
and what was bad.
They did not know who was to be killed and who was to be
acquitted. People killed each other in some senseless rage

In towns the bells tolled day and night, and called everybody,
but no one knew who was calling and what for. No one knew
that and all were anxious . ... In some places people got
together, agreed to something, swore not to part, but
immediately began something quite different from what they
had just planned, began to blame each other, fought and cut
each other. Fires and famine began, everything was perishing.

To realize this world, it is necessary for all humanity to

The prophecy that in the Last Days God will confine Satan

There are hundreds of billions of spirits in the spirit world.
Billions of spirits are on the attack to take hold over the
physical world.
Neurosis is one resultant phenomenon of this reality.
After the year 2000, people will be able to communicate with
each other spiritually.
Whether they communicate with evil or good spirits,
they may fight even if they are ordered not to make war.

This time could come, but the mission of the
Unification Principle is to prevent this.
A tall tower produces radio interference.
The phenomena of neurosis are like that.
The most fearful thing would be if only evil spirits
mobilized and attacked the physical world.
What would happen if that were case?
Regardless of the number of people on earth,
they would all be attacked by evil spirits.

A Shared Task
In one of the most memorable works of Feodor Dostoyevsky,
the story of the Grand Inquisitor, Christ has returned to earth.
He has embarked again on a ministry of healing and charity
and, to his surprise, is subsequently whisked off to prison.

Here he confronts the Grand Inquisitor.
Christ is told he must again face death, for he is again
guiding people in the wrong direction.
He is leading people to freedom and self-responsibility,
"fearful burdens" too great for man to bear.
It is better, Christ is told, for individuals not to confront self-
responsibility to the Church, they are given what they need:
bread and other symbols of security.

While it is no doubt overstated, Dostoyevsky's story makes its
point.
There is a tendency in all of us not to take responsibility for our
own lives.
On occasion we would like to give that burden to God, to the
church, or to any figure representing strength and authority.

Despite such tendencies, Divine Principle, with much of
contemporary thought, affirms the critical role individuals
must play in shaping their own destiny.
We cannot pass off responsibility to someone else.
Each of us is the captain of his own ship.

Of course, this is not to say that we are alone.
For Divine Principle, God is on our side.
There is an organic partnership between man and God.
However, God's efforts on our behalf become effective
only when we do our part.

In the course of growth, of achieving the Direct Dominions, of
building the Kingdom, God does His part and we must do
ours.
Until our portion is completed, God's efforts are futile.
The Lord helps those who help themselves because He can
only help those who help themselves.

In light of this principle certain habitual
practices of Jesus become more understandable.
When Jesus healed the sick he first asked
if they believed in him.

When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and
Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do
this?" They said to him, "Yes, Lord."
Then he touched their eyes saying,
"According to your faith be it done to you (Mt. 9:28-29)."

Faith was the condition that allowed God's healing energy to
work.
Without that faith, no healing was possible.
Likewise Matthew tells us that Jesus promised people
seeking for answers that they would find them, but urged
them to first do their part.

"Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock,
and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds,
and to him who knocks it will be opened (Mt. 7:7-8)."

If we ask why it is we have been given this portion of
responsibility, two reasons suggest themselves.
First, each of us is created as a child of God.
We are given the freedom to make choices and the
obligation to take responsibility for them. In this way God
allows us to participate in the creation of our own selves.
In a sense, we thus become co-creators with Him

Secondly,
Divine Principle explains that God wanted man to be lord
over all the world as His representatives.
However, a person can rightfully have dominion only over
what he has made- and none of us made the world.

Therefore, we must make some condition whereby we can
become creators ourselves.
By taking responsibility in our own self-creation, Divine
Principle tells us,
we qualify to inherit the Lord's right of dominion.

Sharing Responsibility
Naturally, compared to the care God takes for our growth,
our own responsibility is minute.
The two cannot actually be compared.
Nevertheless, we can figuratively say that
God's portion of responsibility is 95 percent
while ours is 5 percent.

Five percent of the job, however, cannot be fulfilled by 5
percent effort.
Even though we are responsible for only a small part of the
total task, we need 100 percent effort to fulfill it.

We may say then that God is like a master stone mason
building a magnificent stone wall.
He has laid almost all the stones Himself, heaving just one
unplaced. We are asked to lay the final block.
As co-workers with God, we are then to take part in the glory
of the finished product.

Divine Principle teaches that the promise of
the Direct Dominion is in living heart to heart with God as
matured persons.
In this union, God governs by love, and laws and
commandments become unnecessary.

Under the direct rule of God man is completely free-liberated
to be who he was meant to be.
Direct Dominion, therefore, should not be confused with a
one-sided domination, but rather understood as
a mutual loving companionship.
It is the crowning jewel in one's interior life, opening
immense new vistas of love, joy and beauty.

A popular quote we often hear but find hard to
understand is “beauty will save the world.”
How will beauty save the world?
The line comes from Dostoevsky’s novel, The Idiot,
attributed to the main character, Prince Myskin.

The prince, an epileptic Russian nobleman,
serves as a Christ-like figure, who stands apart for his
innocence and even naiveté.
Out of the mouth of this idiot comes a clearer vision of
beauty and reality than those around him,
His clarity heightened even in the midst of his sickness.

The saving power of beauty in the prince’s life could not
overcome his sickness, but nonetheless illumined his vision:
“What matter though it be only disease, an abnormal tension
of the brain, if when I recall and analyze the moment…

…it seems to have been one of harmony and beauty in the
highest degree—an instant of deepest sensation,
overflowing with unbounded joy and rapture, ecstatic
devotion, and completest life”
In the midst of his suffering, he glimpsed,
though in a paradoxical manner, the heart of reality.

The Jesus of Galilee will not return - it is not necessary.
The Christ who manifested through him is the Eternal –
he will manifest again.
Mr. Moon in deep meditation can project himself
and be seen just as Jesus has been able to project
himself and be seen by the saints.
This is one of the marks - of the messiahs always.

This is the end of an age, and the battle that is raging
is really Armageddon.
It's a battle between the selfish, brutal men who do not
think in terms of God or things which are associated with
that word - against those peoples who will be the
harbingers of the New Age.

You are now in the new Age - and old things are
being destroyed - and new things - which are eternal
but which are new only because mankind has now
reached the point where it is able to recognize them
and use them.

'From the days of John the Baptist until now the
kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent
men take it by force. /Mathew 11:12
The revelators seldom live to see their revelations
widely accepted. But they do always draw to them –
and leave behind them –
a group who continue the revelation.

But it is not likely that everyone will accept it, because
it needs education and it will take time.
Nobody can give away perfection.
Perfection was the ideal, and perfection was mans
goal from the beginning, but man choose himself to
loose that perfection, and she must now choose to
return to it.

Mr. Moon reminded me that in the Book of Revelation there
is a picture of the New Jerusalem, the Holy City, coming
down out of the heavens. And there was a door on the east
and a door on the south, a door on the north and a door on
the west –
and when the teacher comes, he always has to come
through the eastern gate. In the Holy City of Jerusalem
there is an eastern gate long since sealed and blocked. It
will never be opened until the new teacher comes.

The Hebrew name of the Golden Gate is Sha'ar HaRachamim (
), Gate of Mercy. In Jewish sources the eastern gate of the
Temple compound is called the Shushan Gate.
If the Golden Gate does preserve the location of the Shushan
Gate, which is only a presumption with no archaeological proof,
this would make it the oldest of the current
gates in Jerusalem's Old City Walls.

According to Jewish tradition, the Shekhinah )ivine Presence)
used to appear through the eastern Gate, and will appear again
when the Anointed One (Messiah) comes (Ezekiel 44:1–3)

Divine Principle claims Messiah comes from the East, Korea!
I can only repeat the vision of John, that when the New Age
comes, the Eastern Gate will open, and not only man - but
Revelation (and Messianic HEALING as at the time of
