The document discusses several factors that affect how the Bible is interpreted:
1. The Bible was written by humans in different times and cultures, so it reflects the ideas and language of its writers' eras.
2. The manuscripts were copied by hand over centuries, introducing mistakes and variants in the text. Translations also involve interpretive choices.
3. Readers approach the Bible through the lens of their own backgrounds, experiences, languages, and cultures. It is impossible to be completely objective when interpreting Scripture.
john 3:16, It is God's golden message to the world, comprehending
the sum-total of sixteen hundred years of love revelation. It
tells of a love that loves, a love that serves, a love that
sacrifices. In it we see the father-heart of God, the mother-
heart of Christ, yes, the friend-heart of the world's truest
Friend. Here we are swept out into the universal, beholding
a world-lover, a world-man, a world-thinker, a world-
sympathizer, a non-respecter of persons, one whose mind
and heart reach across races, recognizing no distinctions, no
political lines, no social distinctions.
This is a study of Jesus humiliating His opponents. He healed on the Sabbath and was criticized for it, but He humiliated them by telling them they do for their donkeys what He did in healing the sick woman, and they felt ashamed.
This is a study of Jesus as a man of poise. He was calm and balanced in unsettling situations where one lacking poise could stumble into going out of God's will in actions.

John Chapter 4, Samaria; Living Water; the gift of God; Jesus Is Greater; whoever believes; Vows, Marriage, Living Together, Shacking Up; What is proper worship?; What is truth?; Messiah is coming; They left everything and followed Him; Harvest Has Come; the Savior of the world
A verse by verse commentary on John chapter 11 dealing with the death and resurrection of Lazarus, and the comforting of Mary and Martha. It goes on to deal with the plot to kill Jesus.
The world seems to unconsciously understand the State of Israel and Jews as special people and the nation’s behaviour naturally reflects her inherent uniqueness. ... Israel in every generation has always been reminded to return to her fundamental faith in the LORD through the Scriptures. In the same way, all Gentiles are invited to believe in Him and bless His people according to God’s written Word, the only infallible promises for all the people on earth.
Here is the climax of the series of seven signs. Jesus began his signs at a wedding and ends them at a funeral. Jesus prevented the wedding from becoming a disaster, and he changed the disaster of the funeral into the joy of a wedding. In both miracles Jesus is meeting the needs of a family. This family of three single people was special
to Jesus. They loved him and he loved them. They took him in and gave him a place of refuge where he could escape from the constant clamoring of the crowds. They cooked for him, cared for him, conversed with him, and listened to him teach in that home. There was good reason why he picked Lazarus for his demonstration of the ultimate power that showed him to be the Son of God as he claimed.
What does it mean to be unequally yoked? I contend that, given the literary of cultural/historical context of 2 Corinthians 6:14, Paul is most likely telling the Corinthian church not to become partners with those who were engaging in idol feasts in pagan temples -- for they (the church) are the temple of the Living God (cf. 1 Cor 3:16, 1 Cor 6:19).
Though few worship idols at pagan temples in our society today, there are several idols that are certainly worshiped (money, power, sexual immorality, self, etc.). As in the first century, we in the 21st century should not join others in idolatrous practices.

THE WORLD BELONGS TO THE SICK, THE BLIND, THE ITCHY AND THE LUMPYniwres
The world really belongs to the sick, the blind, the lame, the itchy, achy and lumpy. In spite of what the pervasive media proclaims. The past did not belong to the young and beautiful, and I doubt that the future will. Take comfort that no matter how you look or whatever ails you this year , you are in the company of kings and princes, prophets and geniuses. Most did not measure up to today's illusionary standards. They were frequently afflicted with more than a new crop of acne, a flat chest, or a receding hairline.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

19. Reasons Why We Can’t Just Read The Bible
We have to consider:
Nature of the self-limiting God
Nature of the writer
The nature of Scripture
The nature of time elapsed
The nature of translations
The nature of the reader

“Show no pity: life for life, eye for
eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand,

30. Manuscript variants:
Did John the Baptist say ?
“This is the son of God”
or as other manuscripts say:
“This is God’s Chosen One”
John 1:31
31. “I saw that God had especially guarded the Bible,
yet when copies of it were few, learned
men had in some instances
changed the words, thinking that they
were making it more plain, when in reality they
were mystifying that which was plain, by causing
it to lean to their established views, which
were governed by tradition.”
