1. It is important to report all incidents, accident,
injuries, occupational illnesses, and near misses
immediately to the shift supervisor, manager or
safety department. Proper reporting ensures proper
and timely injury treatment and it helps the company
investigate and come up with ways to prevent
incidents in the future.
Report Near Misses! - Reporting near misses should
not just be considered an “extra” thing. They are not
something you should be ashamed or embarrassed
to do.
There are several benefits to having a near-miss
reporting culture in place, including:
Looks for pro-active resolutions for hazards
Engages the workforce
Increases safety ownership and reinforces
workers’ self-esteem.
Exposes valuable information that otherwise might
not be discussed.
