 The Refinery Project
Guru Gobind Singh Refinery, Punjab, India promoted by HPCL Mittal Energy
Ltd.(www.hmel.in ) is a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited
(HPCL), the second largest public sector refining company in India and Mittal Energy
Investment Pte Ltd, Singapore - A LN Mittal group company, the promoter of ArcelorMittal,
the world's largest steel company, with presence in more than 60 countries
Headquartered at Noida, India, HMEL has built a grass root refinery at Bhatinda in Punjab
was set up with an investment of $4.63billion. The project construction commenced in 2008
and the refinery was commissioned in 2011. The project includes a 9 MMTPA refinery,
1,100 km crude oil pipeline, a crude oil terminal, Single Point Mooring (SPM) and a captive
power plant of 100MW.

 Fifth biggest refinery in India. Contributes to increasing refining capacity of India
from 62 million tonnes to 213 million tonnes.
