The document summarizes mass deaths occurring in dolphin populations, particularly bottlenose dolphins in the northern Gulf of Mexico. While the BP oil spill is not believed to be the cause, localized increases in strandings and deaths have been observed. The cause of the unusual high counts of illnesses and deaths among bottlenose dolphins in the Gulf remains a mystery, as investigators have not identified a reason for the issue. Other possible explanations mentioned include abnormal weather, toxic algae blooms, parasites, pollution, and disorientation from ships or oil spills.

The Fifth Assessment Report from the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the
most comprehensive and relevant analysis of our
changing climate. It provides the scientific fact base
that will be used around the world to formulate
climate policies in the coming years.
This document is one of a series synthesizing the most pertinent findings
of AR5 for specific economic and business sectors. It was born of the belief
that the business sector could make more use of AR5, which is long and
highly technical, if it were distilled into an accurate, accessible, timely,
relevant and readable summary.
Although the information presented here is a ‘translation’ of the key
content relevant to this sector from AR5, this summary report adheres to
the rigorous scientific basis of the original source material.
Grateful thanks are extended to all reviewers from both the science and
business communities for their time, effort and invaluable feedback on

Some animals that live in the oceans can only live in a certain temperature so if the temperature is not the right temperature for the animals, they will probably die.

A harmful algal bloom (HAB) is an algal bloom that causes negative impacts to other organisms via production of natural toxins, mechanical damage to other organisms, or by other means. HABs are often associated with large-scale marine mortality events and have been associated with various types of shellfish poisonings.

This National Wildlife Federation report details how 14 Gulf wildlife species are faring in the wake of BP's 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil disaster in the Gulf. Since the tragedy, NWF has closely monitored the harm done to wildlife and important habitats in the Gulf and along the coast. Though the full impacts of the oil spill remain unknown, this summarizes what we know so far, and what restoration still needs to be done. http://www.nwf.org/fouryearslater

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Mass death in dolphins
Isn’t because of BP’s massive oil spill
The cause remains a mystery.
No evidence indicating worldwide multi-species
crash.
Localized areas, stranding and death increased.
3. • Unusual high counts of illnesses & death in
bottlenose dolphins towards the gulf.
• Bottlenose dolphins in the northern part of the
gulf are dying at a higher rate than bottlenose
dolphins elsewhere.
• No reason found for the issue yet.
• We know for a fact humans impact the
dolphins life everyday.
4. • When a mass death happens the whole group could
be wiped out.
• Not only are “ocean-going” dolphins suffering from the
mass deaths, the Chinese river dolphin (baiji) was
declared extinct in 2006.
• This probably happened because of humans.. Fishing
gear, underwater explosions or excessive noise that
would harm them.
5. Other possible causes
Dolphins cant handle abnormal weather.
Toxic algae blooms in the water are very harmful.
Parasites or pollution can easily kill the food they
eat.
Disorientation from ships or oil spills can physically
hurt the dolphins
