There are a thousand metrics floating around and it is difficult to tell what is truly important. Whether you’re the person who is being measured by something that doesn’t quite make sense or the leader that is trying to figure out just how the heck to show to others that her team is successful, there are a lot of questions out there and a lot of people that are just feeling injured by metrics.
Julia Wester will share examples of good and bad techniques for using data when coaching teams. Come, listen and learn how to avoid the pitfalls of managing by numbers, including how to identify and avoid vanity metrics, how to choose metrics that drive desired behaviors, and ways to visualize balanced team metrics that enable continuous improvement.

CIO Business Innovation Series. Paul DiModica, author of the book “Sell Technology: Technology Sales Is a Premeditated Sport”, talks about technology salesmen:
Q: What are the top mistakes people make when selling technology? Well, first of all, most of them come to sell instead of listen. They're not prepared, and they tend to shoot from the hip. Secondly, they don't know what they're selling.
Q: They don't understand their product? No, it's deeper than that. They don't understand the value of what they're selling and, consequently, can't explain its value. And thirdly, they sell technology instead of a solution.
If your IT leadership team is having the same problems, then you are not alone.

The Future of Contact Centers Artificial IntelligenceJim Iyoob
It is not possible to have your company everywhere all the time, right? But today’s customers want it fast, they want it good and they want it their way. Your customer will leave you if it’s not their way; you can expect up to 95% of them to tell their friends, family and co-workers about their bad experience. Matt Rocco and I have put in a lot of work together to write “The Future of Contact Centers”.
This new Spotlight Report explores the goals and challenges associated with marketing analytics. It shows how marketing success is measured, evaluated, reported and optimized. The report data and charts are based on a comprehensive survey of marketing professionals in our Technology Marketing Community on LinkedIn.
Key findings include:
- Marketers expect four key benefits from marketing analytics: (1) better understanding which marketing platforms deliver the most ROI, (2) better prioritization of marketing tactics, (3) better marketing message and positioning, and (4) better demonstration of the value marketing contributes to sales.
- Gaining actionable insights from marketing analytics is by far the most important business objective. Being able to combine data to achieve those insights is the top operational objective.
- Lack of resources, data quality, and lack of system integration are the most mentioned challenges.
- Marketing analytics budgets are expected to grow for about half of respondents.
- The most popular applications for marketing analytics are Google Analytics and Microsoft Excel.
We hope you will enjoy the report - you can download it here: http://www.marketingbuddy.com/download-the-marketing-analytics-report/
Today's technology gives us the ability to know exactly where are marketing dollars are being spent, the problem is that we don't have the data. It's not that we dont't have enough data, it's that we're drowning in the data that we have. It's sorting through that data and making sense of it that's the problem. The data needs to be presented in a sensible format to use it effectively. This is precisely why we asked 274 marketing professionals from a broad cross-section of industries and roles about their experience with data in their companies. The results were insightful!

Common Mistakes to Avoid in Google AnalyticsSelesti-Ltd
With so much data available to B2B marketers, it’s hard to believe that any marketer would still rely on their gut to make business decisions. But in the PwC Global Data & Analytics Survey, it was reported that 62% of executives still prefer to rely on their experience rather than data, to make decisions.
Our challenge as B2B marketers, is to make sure our data is credible and trustworthy. If we can’t trust our data, then what use is it? And if we can’t reliably interpret it, then we risk losing our credibility when reporting on our activity and performance.
Google Analytics is one of the most widely used analytics platform out there. But the problem is although it's easy to learn, it’s difficult to master. Reviewing your data is crucial to ensure you can interpret and analyse it correctly.
In this presentation, we highlight 4 common errors in Google Analytics, and how to fix it, to make your data more reliable and trustworthy.

W swojej prezentacji przedstawię inspirujące i praktyczne przykłady zastosowania zagadnień z pogranicza analityki, Big Data i Business Intelligence w różnych obszarach działalności przedsiębiorstwa - marketingu, obszarze zarządczym, finansach, czy sporcie.
Powodzenia! :)

Techniques to optimize the pagerank algorithm usually fall in two categories. One is to try reducing the work per iteration, and the other is to try reducing the number of iterations. These goals are often at odds with one another. Skipping computation on vertices which have already converged has the potential to save iteration time. Skipping in-identical vertices, with the same in-links, helps reduce duplicate computations and thus could help reduce iteration time. Road networks often have chains which can be short-circuited before pagerank computation to improve performance. Final ranks of chain nodes can be easily calculated. This could reduce both the iteration time, and the number of iterations. If a graph has no dangling nodes, pagerank of each strongly connected component can be computed in topological order. This could help reduce the iteration time, no. of iterations, and also enable multi-iteration concurrency in pagerank computation. The combination of all of the above methods is the STICD algorithm. [sticd] For dynamic graphs, unchanged components whose ranks are unaffected can be skipped altogether.
