Dog Obedience TrainingDog Obedience Training
● I know how much you love your puppy or pet dog,
● But some bad habits and painful behaviors are slowly
developing and really starting to annoy you …
● Is it jumping up on family, friends and visitors?
● Barking all night to get response from other dogs?
● Pooing in the wrong places to get your Attention?
● Becoming aggressive....even biting children?
● Your dog wants attention, approval, praise, affection!
Dog Obedience TrainingDog Obedience Training
● Think: What does your dog love, really want and
yearn for, daily? Dream of and salivate about?
● Tasty dog treats? Meaty meals?
● Your attention, acceptance, praise and affection?
● Play time. Running to retrieve a tennis ball?
● Long walkies....?
● The trick in dog training: Hold these rewards back
until the right behavior is shown by the puppy / dog!
Dog Obedience TrainingDog Obedience Training
● Little step by baby step by step …
● 'Drip feed' these tasty rewards, the dog treats, the
touch of affection, the verbal 'good boy!'
● Use your responses to the dog as timely rewards!
● ONLY when the behavior YOU want is shown...
● Any jumping up, barking, unwanted stuff??
● HOLD back the tasty treats, the words of praise, and
● He'll soon 'get' the connection: Right action. Reward.
Be Consistent ...Be Consistent ...
● Only if YOU are 100% consistent in this schedule,
can the dog learn. Correct behavior => tasty reward
● NO exceptions. Ever.
● Psychologists call this positive reinforcement of
positive, desirable behaviors. It makes sense.
● I know an amazing dog trainer in Auckland, New
Zealand. He's known as Doggy Dan. I'd like you to
meet him, on the next slide ...
