3. Narrative Structure
The structure of the documentary is linear as it
documents the evolutionary process of Lara
Croft discussing the creation and the effect
that she had on an audience. It also
documents how the game developed into a
film, leaving an open ended resolution as the
character Lara Croft still exists today.
4. Mise-En-Scene
Interview is shot with game
footage being played
behind, it is being played
from a projector which
some of the projection is on
the interviewers face. This
supports the whole
technology theme of the
documentary, other
interview backdrops are in
front of a bunch of
computers.
5. Camerawork
• The rule of thirds shot is used mainly when
filming these interviews. Using close up shots
or a medium close up.
• The use of a tripod is evident in the filming of
the documentaries.
• Over the should POV shot used when showing
a gamer playing the game; Tomb Raider
6. Sound
• The documentary uses voice of god narration.
• Trance music is used creating a quick paced
ambient atmosphere, with the music being
Tech sounding it ties in with the theme of the
game.
8. Editing/ Graphics
The editing style in this documentary is fast
paced which is reflective of the content shown
in the documentary.
Graphics
• Green screen was used behind interviews.
• Lower third (lower case font was used)
