Health Education on prevention of hypertensionRadhika kulvi
Hypertension is a chronic condition of concern due to its role in the causation of coronary heart diseases. Hypertension is a worldwide epidemic and important risk factor for coronary artery disease, stroke and renal diseases. Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the blood vessels and is sufficient to maintain tissue perfusion during activity and rest. Hypertension is sustained elevation of BP. In adults, HTN exists when systolic blood pressure is equal to or greater than 140mmHg or diastolic BP is equal to or greater than 90mmHg. The
Defecation
Normal defecation begins with movement in the left colon, moving stool toward the anus. When stool reaches the rectum, the distention causes relaxation of the internal sphincter and an awareness of the need to defecate. At the time of defecation, the external sphincter relaxes, and abdominal muscles contract, increasing intrarectal pressure and forcing the stool out
The Valsalva maneuver exerts pressure to expel faeces through a voluntary contraction of the abdominal muscles while maintaining forced expiration against a closed airway. Patients with cardiovascular disease, glaucoma, increased intracranial pressure, or a new surgical wound are at greater risk for cardiac dysrhythmias and elevated blood pressure with the Valsalva maneuver and need to avoid straining to pass the stool.
Normal defecation is painless, resulting in passage of soft, formed stool
CONSTIPATION
Constipation is a symptom, not a disease. Improper diet, reduced fluid intake, lack of exercise, and certain medications can cause constipation. For example, patients receiving opiates for pain after surgery often require a stool softener or laxative to prevent constipation. The signs of constipation include infrequent bowel movements (less than every 3 days), difficulty passing stools, excessive straining, inability to defecate at will, and hard feaces
IMPACTION
Fecal impaction results from unrelieved constipation. It is a collection of hardened feces wedged in the rectum that a person cannot expel. In cases of severe impaction the mass extends up into the sigmoid colon.
DIARRHEA
Diarrhea is an increase in the number of stools and the passage of liquid, unformed feces. It is associated with disorders affecting digestion, absorption, and secretion in the GI tract. Intestinal contents pass through the small and large intestine too quickly to allow for the usual absorption of fluid and nutrients. Irritation within the colon results in increased mucus secretion. As a result, feces become watery, and the patient is unable to control the urge to defecate. Normally an anal bag is safe and effective in long-term treatment of patients with fecal incontinence at home, in hospice, or in the hospital. Fecal incontinence is expensive and a potentially dangerous condition in terms of contamination and risk of skin ulceration
HEMORRHOIDS
Hemorrhoids are dilated, engorged veins in the lining of the rectum. They are either external or internal.
FLATULENCE
As gas accumulates in the lumen of the intestines, the bowel wall stretches and distends (flatulence). It is a common cause of abdominal fullness, pain, and cramping. Normally intestinal gas escapes through the mouth (belching) or the anus (passing of flatus)
FECAL INCONTINENCE
Fecal incontinence is the inability to control passage of feces and gas from the anus. Incontinence harms a patient’s body image

5. Why Doctors Should Study Online.
The medical industry is making significant headway every year and this rapid growth
leads to better technology and healthcare options for patients. As new developments
continue to emerge in the field of healthcare, medical professionals must stay up to date
in order to provide the best care possible for their patients via Continuing Medical
Education Programs. The learning doesn’t cease after they are certified and obtain the
requisite licenses. In a competitive world, they have to up skill themselves periodically
through CME (continued medical education) even as they run successful practices and
manage their jobs. CME enables healthcare professionals to improve their care services
and treatment options and progress in their career. This is important, especially in the
medical industry that requires professionals to stay qualified and maintain their skills in
their chosen specialties.
6. The Pro’s Of DocMode
Using online technologies to impart professional learning has enabled accrediting
bodies to reach learners across languages or locations. Medical professionals opt for
online learning programs as they can learn at a comfortable pace, spend less with little
to no travel. Since these professionals are on a limited budget, they find a suitable
alternative to live lectures in online courses. Virtual classes offer the advantage of
revisiting lectures to clarify and clear up any doubts in the topics covered. They can
keep up with the latest medical advancements and trends and refine their skills.
Doctors complete their credit hours in online courses without burning a hole in their
pockets. However, while choosing a certification program, professionals must focus on
the quality of educational resources and a diverse course with various options that can
help them advance within their specialties.
7. An Internet-based course demands that you develop personal
time-management skills. As with most things, if you don't manage
your time properly, you will find yourself buried beneath a seeming
insurmountable mountain of coursework. Online courses require
the self-discipline to set aside chunks of time to complete your
studies. It means you have to make online studying a priority and
not let other activities interfere. Sometimes, it means making
difficult choices.
The Con’s Of DocMode.
8. How DocMode Helps Doctors In
The Current Scenario.
This world, more so medically, has seen tremendous change in the past few decades.
There are new diseases coming to the fore. There are new discoveries happening.
Someone is inventing a new drug for life-threatening diseases. There is new research on
deadly viruses. And so on.
Staying updated in the field also means opening yourself to better growth opportunities.
Staying updated also makes one competitive enough in a market that’s crowded. From
academia to research or high-up in the healthcare sector, there are countless
possibilities when one keeps a track of how fast things are changing in their area of
specialization and how quickly they can imbibe those changes.
9. The Covid Lockdown Leading To The
Closure Of Training Institutes.
Training Institutes closures have been a common tool in the battle against COVID-19.
There have been widening learning inequities, there has been an adverse impact on
nutrition, impact on mental and psychological wellbeing and safety as also learning
losses.
UNESCO has listed “interrupted learning” among the top adverse consequences of
Covid-19 school closures worldwide. Members of the task force have indicated that In
India, a four-state, 44 district study shows that 92% of primary school students have lost
at least one language ability from the previous year whereas 82% of children on average
have lost at least one specific mathematical ability from the previous year. Children,
especially the younger ones, have forgotten what they had learned earlier and are not
ready in terms of their foundational skills to tackle the challenges of a grade based
curriculum and perform in the classroom.

relationships that a physician uses to provide services for patients, the public, or the
profession. The content of CME is that body of knowledge and skills generally
recognized and accepted by the profession as within the basic medical sciences, the
discipline of clinical medicine, and the provision of health care to the public.
12. What is Evidence Based Medicine.
Evidence-based medicine is the integration of best research evidence with clinical
expertise and patient values. Evidence-based medicine is an interdisciplinary
approach which uses techniques from science, engineering, biostatistics and
epidemiology, such as meta-analysis, decision analysis, risk-benefit analysis, and
randomized controlled trials to deliver “ the right care at the right time to the right
patient.”
13. How DocMode Helps in
Evidence Based Medicine.
