3. WHAT IS POLLUTION?

adverse change.Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise,
heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign
substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants
4. GENERATION X VIEW

of the environment

12. CO2
• Carbon dioxide (CO2) is produced by all aerobic organisms when they metabolize carbohydrates and
lipids to produce energy by respiration.[7] It is returned to water via the gills of fish and to the air via the
lungs of air-breathing land animals, including humans. Carbon dioxide is produced during the processes
of decay of organic materials and the fermentation of sugars in bread, beer and winemaking. It is
produced by combustion of wood and other organic materials and fossil fuels such as
coal, peat, petroleum and natural gas.

18. SUMMARY
• Carbon Taxation only increase the cost of goods and services for people as such does little for the
environment
• Canada needs to stopped giving out $2.65B or more to countries around the world unless there is
oversight on how the moneys is being spent.
• China and India continue to use dirty coal and/or have weak environmental policies
• CO2 is not a pollutant, but the foundation for life
• Pollution is not new term as it has been around for years
• I was constantly reminded of pollution in the 1970s through TV shows like “ARK II” or “Woodsie the owl” or
“Superfriends 1973)
• Recycling programs took off in the 1980s.
