DNA is the blueprint of life that is found in almost all cells in the human body except red blood cells. It is comprised of four building blocks called bases - cytosine, guanine, thymine, and adenine. DNA can be extracted from many samples including blood, saliva, hair, skin cells, and others to determine a person's genetic makeup through analysis. If unraveled, a single human cell's DNA strand would reach over 6 feet in length and the total DNA in a human body stretched out could circle the moon over 6000 times.
