Divisible – if a number can be divided by
another number with no remainder,
decimal, or fraction.
We will learn rules for 3, 4 and 9.
3. Divisibility Rule for 3
A number is divisible by 3 if…
The sum of the digits in a number is divisible by 3.
Examples
1) 63
Solution: 6 + 3 = 9
9 is divisible by 3.
63 is divisible by 3 .
2) 97
Solution: 9 + 7 =16
16 is not divisible by 3
97 is not divisible by 3.
