Traditional dioramas in museums aim to transport visitors to another place and time through realistic scenes behind glass. Interactive digital dioramas seek to supplement traditional dioramas by giving visitors more control over content and allowing them to make choices that impact scenes. Examples include touchscreens that let users view different times of day or seasons in a habitat. The goals are to engage users comfortable with technology while expanding interpretation of scenes.
