2. Week 1 - Studio 1
Mobile from memory
This task got us to sit down and think
about an every day object which
we use and to redraw it from
memory.
I thought this was going to be far too
easy seeing as the iPhone 4 is a
very simple device when almost
all of it’s entire user interface is in
the touch screen, but then I
began to realise the other small
features such as the camera and
ear speaker which at first went
straight through my mind.
3. Week 1 - Studio 1
Mobile from observation
I took more time with this one to try
to get it as close to the actual
object as possible.
4. Week 1 - Studio 1
Drawing exercise right hand
I think this exercise was to try and
get us to stop being so perfect
with our drawings
5. Week 1 - Studio 1
Drawing exercise left hand
Being right handed made this task
rather awkward as the circles
begun to turn square-like and
uncoordinated.
6. Week 1 - Studio 1
Cylinder shape to draw bike from
memory
(Though I didn’t realise this is what
the cylinder was for in the first
place)
7. Week 1 - Studio 1
First attempt at drawing bike from
memory
Second attempt at drawing bike from
memory
(After realising what cylinder was
for)
I found this task to be quite fun and
yet mind-boggling at the same
time as I don’t see bikes very
often at all. My second attempt
seemed better but still doesn’t
look right.
8. Week 1 - Studio 1
Scanned drawing of bike from
observation not working...
REMEMBER TO FIX ASAP !
9. Week 1 - Studio 1
Drawing finger through breaking
down into simple shapes
I found that breaking down objects
into simple shapes does help with
the final drawing and is not how I
usually draw because I see the
markings left over at the end as
errors.
They are also a pain to get rid of
without ruining the final drawing.
10. Week 1 - Studio 1
Drawing entire hand through
breaking down into simple shapes
11. Week 1 - Studio 1
Break up of 7 part hand animation
First frame and last frame;
Middle frame;
2 frames between first and middle;
2 frames between middle and last.
12. Week 1 - Studio 1
Frame 1 of 7 Hand animation
When I finished all 7 frames, I found
that this frame did not go
smoothly with the frames
between 1 and 7
18. Week 1 - Studio 1
Frame 7 of 7 Hand animation
I found that as well as the first
frame, this frame was different to
the others, mainly due to the
difference of size in the thumb.
19. Week 1 - Studio 1
Final animation – Cropped &
realignment of hands.
At first, it didn’t animate very smoothly
when I imported the pictures and
exported as a gif because I couldn’t
draw the hand in the same position
on each paper and to exact scale as
the other drawings.
I think for this to become smoother, I
need to draw more
frames, especially between frame 1
and 2.
When I watch the animation, the final
frame tends to irritate me more
and more as the thumb just doesn’t
look right at all.
20. Week 2 - Studio 2
Line Exercise
This was an exercise which required us to draw 5 frames experimenting with line.
43. Week 3 - Studio 3
First life drawings
With these initial drawings, I found
that I was taking far too long just
to get the general skeleton of the
figure drawn
44. Week 3 - Studio 3
First life drawings
As a result, I did not get any features
drawn.
45. Week 3 - Studio 3
Second life drawing – No looking
down [RIGHT HAND]
This exercise required us to draw
with our main hand without
looking down at the paper.
I found that this was quite hard and
the outcome was quite terrible.
46. Week 3 - Studio 3
Second life drawing – No looking
down [LEFT HAND]
This exercise required us to draw
with our other hand without
looking down at the paper.
This was even harder as I do not
have even half the amount of
control in my left hand as my
right.
The outcome for this was worse than
the last, looking a lot more
distorted.
47. Week 3 - Studio 3
Third life drawing – Unknown
With this set of drawings, I did not
know if it was a continuation of
the last exercise or not, so I
decided to just continue with it.
48. Week 3 - Studio 3
Third life drawing – Unknown
For this drawing, I finally lost control
of myself and peeked down at my
paper for a slight second and
looked back up at the model.
I find that it is quite hard to keep
your eyes away from the paper
you are drawing on.
49. Week 3 - Studio 3
Fourth life drawings
I do not remember what this set of
drawings were for, but I found
that they were much better than
the previous drawings
I believe this set had the model pose
for a longer period of time
50. Week 3 - Studio 3
Fourth life drawings
I do not remember what this set of
drawings were for, but I found
that they were much better than
the previous drawings

54. Week 3 - Studio 3
Fourth life drawings
I do not remember what this set of
drawings were for, but I found

55. Week 3 - Studio 3
Fourth life drawings
I do not remember what this set of
drawings were for, but I found

56. Week 3 - Studio 3
Fourth life drawings
I do not remember what this set of
drawings were for, but I found
that they were much better than
the previous drawings
I believe this set had the model pose
for a longer period of time
57. Week 3 - Studio 3
Fourth life drawings
This is my favourite drawing from the
whole session. I think I
successfully captured the models
pose quite well and it does not
look out of proportion.
The only thing I think is wrong with
this drawing is the incomplete
umbrella.
58. Week 3 - Studio 3
Fifth life drawings
For this exercise, we had to overlap all of the poses.
At first I thought it would look quite useless if I overlapped all of the poses straight on top, so I decided to
slightly shift the following poses to the right.
There are six poses in total.
59. Week 3 - Studio 3
Sixth life drawings – Animation
Frame 1 of 6
These drawings were used for the
animation
60. Week 3 - Studio 3
Sixth life drawings – Animation
Frame 2 of 6
These drawings were used for the
animation
61. Week 3 - Studio 3
Sixth life drawings – Animation
Frame 3 of 6
These drawings were used for the
animation
62. Week 3 - Studio 3
Sixth life drawings – Animation
Frame 4 of 6
These drawings were used for the
animation
63. Week 3 - Studio 3
Sixth life drawings – Animation
Frame 5 of 6
These drawings were used for the
animation
When I started drawing this frame, I
knew I wouldn’t have enough
room on the paper as I drew the
original pose fairly large and as a
result, the umbrella had been cut
out partially.
64. Week 3 - Studio 3
Sixth life drawings – Animation
Frame 6 of 6
These drawings were used for the
animation
This frame also had the umbrella cut
out partially.
65. Week 3 - Studio 3
Sixth life drawings – Animation
This is the final animation.
I am happy with the final result, but I
think it could be a lot smoother
with more frames in between and
repositioning each frame.
66. Week 3 - Studio 3
Seventh life drawings
These are the final drawings we had for the day.
The model posed on a chair and we were given 5 minutes per pose.
67. Week 3 - Studio 3

These are the final drawings we had for the day.
The model posed on a chair and we were given 5 minutes per pose.
68. Week 3 - Studio 3
Exercise 3
For this exercise, we were required to fill an A4 page with 10 gestural
drawings.
69. Week 3 - Studio 3
Exercise 3
For this exercise, we were required to choose 2 of 6 images and reduce them to a minimal
line drawing symbol which represents the figure/object.
I think I did pretty well with this.
70. Week 3 – Studio 3

For this exercise, we were required to choose 2 of 6 images and reduce them to a minimal
line drawing symbol which represents the figure/object.
I think I did pretty well with this.
