2. About Me
• I have been in the Culinary industry for 20 years.
• Went from working at fast food restaurants to hotels, and fine dining
• Attended Culinary school, Le Cordon Bleu in 2000
• Was featured on local TV stations and in magazines.
• In 2012 I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, which changed my life.
• In 2012 I began to look at food in a different way. I then began to study to become a Nutritionist
and found out the relationship between food and the body was a factor often overlooked.
• AFPA Certified Nutritionist
• Board Certified through the AADP (American Association of Drugless Practitioners)
3. What I do
• Focus on helping clients heal through
nutrition and dietary changes. Many health
conditions can be improved or managed
through changes in diet and lifestyle.
• We work with you to find out what you
like to eat, what conditions you are trying
to treat or health goals you are trying to
meet and help design a custom plan just
for you. Finding a dietary plan you will
stick with and see results from will help
you to achieve your goals.
• We do not recommend unhealthy or
drastic diets. Our programs are specifically
focused on nutritional healing and in
moderation. You can’t starve yourself or
deny yourself everything you enjoy eating
or you will not stick with a program. The
exception is allergies or intolerance’s where
you may need to cut out certain foods and
find alternatives.
4. Consultations are 1 hour long typically. We go
over all your information and set short term
goals. We create a plan of action based on your
individual needs.
*1/2 off new client $35.00
*1 hour existing client $70.00
*Phone consultations (existing Clients Only) $20.00 per 1/2 hour
5. The Approach
• 7- Core Physiological Processes
• Elimination: Focuses on the digestive process
• Detox: A focus on sensitivities
• Defense: Focus on immune system
• Cell Communication: concentrates on any underlying
inflammation, insulin resistance, poor fitness etc.
• Cell Transport: Looks at your blood cholesterol, proteins
and fats.
• Energy: An in depth look at mental and physical energy
levels
• Structure: Targets skeleton structure, bone mass and
posture.
• I explore the 7 core processes using a scoring system to
evaluate the Health Assessment that is given to each
client.
• We have recently switched from a paper assessment to a
simple online form clients can take at their leisure. The
assessment is then scored by a specific correlation
between answers.
• This saves time for me and the clients to be able to use
their consultation time more efficiently.
6. Chronic Illness Conundrum
• Undermine quality of life
• Chronic Illness on the rise: CDC estimates 78% of national health care expenses are due to Chronic
conditions.
• Polypharmacy= Taking a number of pills to treat a range of symptoms
• Doctors offer little education on how to manage Chronic disease.
• Links between genetics, lifestyle and environment, suggesting that Genetics are NOT the only factor
for developing disease.
Functional Medicine Breakthrough
*Systems approach to the body
• Exploring the entire network to find places where genetic expression have been altered by
environmental factors.
• Finding imbalances
• Finding triggers for illness and symptoms
• New model for healthcare: Diet, supplemental nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, behavior therapies, and
environmental modification.
7. Personalized Health Care
Building an individual baseline program that shows people how to change the course of events that
have lead to chronic disease. The goal is to live a long and well life.
-Based of the teachings of Dr. Jeff Bland
In closing,
I hope to show people ways they can make even small changes that have a huge impact on well-
being.
