When creating diagnostic tests, instructors should consider the
following :
1. What skills are to be assessed
2. Whether the assessment allows students to demonstrate mastery
of those skills
3. If every component of the skills accounted for in the assessment
4. If students can respond in a different way that expected and still
show mastery of the concepts, and
5. If the assessment is a test of the process or the
