Structural Analysis of Scientific Research Group in the Chinese Computer Fieldinventionjournals
A coauthor network is formed by these papers published on the prestigious chinese journals in computer fields during the period 2011-2015, including Journal of Software, Chinese Journal of Computers, and Computer Research and Development. By analyzing the co-authorship network using social network analysis method, some statistic characteristics of scientific research groups in domestic computer field are analyzed. The results show that most of the research cooperation appears in a fraction of the stable and mature research groups, and the research groups consisting of researchers with higher administrative position can develop with a stable growth rate.

A NEAR-DUPLICATE DETECTION ALGORITHM TO FACILITATE DOCUMENT CLUSTERINGIJDKP
Web Ming faces huge problems due to Duplicate and Near Duplicate Web pages. Detecting Near
Duplicates is very difficult in large collection of data like ”internet”. The presence of these web pages
plays an important role in the performance degradation while integrating data from heterogeneous
sources. These pages either increase the index storage space or increase the serving costs. Detecting these
pages has many potential applications for example may indicate plagiarism or copyright infringement.
This paper concerns detecting, and optionally removing duplicate and near duplicate documents which are
used to perform clustering of documents .We demonstrated our approach in web news articles domain. The
experimental results show that our algorithm outperforms in terms of similarity measures. The near
duplicate and duplicate document identification has resulted reduced memory in repositories.

Interpreting the Semantics of Anomalies Based on Mutual Information in Link M...ijdms
This paper aims to show how mutual information can help provide a semantic interpretation of anomalies in data, characterize the anomalies, and how mutual information can help measure the information that object item X shares with another object item Y. Whilst most link mining approaches focus on predicting link type, link based object classification or object identification, this research focused on using link mining to detect anomalies and discovering links/objects among anomalies. This paper attempts to demonstrate the contribution of mutual information to interpret anomalies using a case study.

Linked Open Data promises to provide guiding principles to publish interlinked knowledge graphs on the Web in the form of findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable datasets. In this talk I argue that while as such, Linked Data may be viewed as a basis for instantiating the FAIR principles, there are still a number of open issues that cause significant data quality issues even when knowledge graphs are published as Linked Data. In this talk I will first define the boundaries of what constitutes a single coherent knowledge graph within Linked Data, i.e., present a principled notion of what a dataset is and what links within and between datasets are. I will also define different link types for data in Linked datasets and present the results of our empirical analysis of linkage among the datasets of the Linked Open Data cloud. Recent results from our analysis of Wikidata, which has not been part of the Linked Open Data Cloud, will also be presented.

Academic libraries in the United States typically reference proxy server and/or COUNTER statistics to describe the usage of their electronic resources, but we know that a “use” is arguably more than a resource accessed or downloaded. This article employs social network analysis to bridge the typical ways of talking about usage statistics, to provide a context-specific perspective about the mediated use of electronic resources. The article reports on an analysis of data gathered at the Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles, California) using traditional statistics as well as library reference encounters with patrons during which an electronic resource is mentioned. We use the reference encounters in a social network analysis to examine the relationship between a patron, a librarian, and an electronic resource to more fully describe the use of the resource. This research provides a conceptual model for comparison between traditional COUNTER statistics, proxy server statistics, and the social network analysis perspective. We transform qualitative data into quantitative data in order to develop a grounded theory about the mediated access to library electronic resources.

This study investigates collaboration in an open source software community using proximity theory as the theoretical lens with social network analysis and modeling of activities over time to predict collaboration.
Actors in this study are part of the Linux kernel community where they collaborate on one or more sub-projects using mailing lists as the primary method of collaboration. Collaboration occurs in real-time between actors that contribute to multiple sub-projects, work for firms that pay them to contribute to the Linux kernel, and are working virtually from locations across the globe. This complex setting can be better understood by using several dimensions of proximity: organizational, cognitive, institutional, social, and geographical. Collaboration is analysed using data from source code contributions and mailing list participation.
Open source software is developed in the open where anyone can view the source code and anyone with the knowledge to do so can contribute to the project. With no central group responsible for coordination of tasks, collaboration on the development of this software is emergent. Because people from around the world work on these projects together using online tools with publicly accessible interactions between people, it is a relevant setting for using social network analysis to understand and model network relationships.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
