This document describes a fuel flow meter called DFM Marine that provides precise fuel consumption monitoring and machine hours monitoring. It can measure fuel consumption up to 4 cubic meters per hour with 0.5-2% inaccuracy. The meter has brass or duralumin bodies and can connect via threads or flanges. Data like total fuel used, operating hours, and tampering attempts can be displayed and reset. Multiple units can also operate in differential or aggregated modes. The meters can be configured via PC software to adjust settings.

DFM is a tool for direct measurement of fuel consumption, which is used as a part of GPS tracking system, vehicle telematics system or as an stand-alone (autonomous) solution for fuel consumption monitoring.
DFM Marine is used in telematics systems (GPS tracking systems) and as an autonomous fuel monitoring solution. DFM Marine is installed in fuel line of the engine / boiler / burner, directly measures fuel consumption and generates an output signal, which is sent to telematics unit (GPS tracker).
DFM Marine is used for monitoring fuel consumption and operating time of engine (fuel consumer), and suitable for:
water transport – sea and river vessels;
locomotives and railway machines;
quarrying and mining machinery;
powerful diesel generators, boilers, burners.
Fuel consumption monitoring and GPS location tracking of sea or river vessels (ships, boats, dredges) allows shipowners and ship operators to reduce operation costs by minimizing idling time of fleet, preventing fuel theft and improving crew discipline.
Technoton’s telematics system for sea and river watercrafts is based on accurate tools for fuel consumption measurement – DFM and DFM Marine fuel flow meters that are mounted in fuel line of main engine, auxiliary engines, diesel generators and boilers/heaters. It can also include DUT-E fuel level sensors, which are installed in fuel tanks, and MasterCAN DAC i/o modules for gathering signals from standard analog sensors of a ship/boat. When used as a part of telematics system, DUT-E allows getting reliable and accurate information on current fuel volume in the tank and to reveal misuse and fuel theft from tank. DUT-E also gives a general overview on fuel usage by vehicle or stationary unit.
Agricultural machinery telematics by Technoton is an integral telematics solution for fuel monitoring, monitoring of operating parameters, GPS tracking and running time tracking of tractors, harvesters and other agricultural vehicles, that are widely used in agroindustrial complex and agricultural enterprises.
