Overall, Canadian education is a success story. But high overall quality masks deep
inequality. On First Nations reserves, 3 in 5 students do not complete high school.
Small communities often face challenges recruiting and retaining teachers. And, too
often, new teachers arrive in northern and Indigenous communities without the
preparation and support they need to succeed—and stay—in the classroom.
Teach For Canada has joined northern First Nations communities in the movement to

2. Your responsibilities
The Development Manager will report directly to the Director of Development and will work
with our full‐time staff, Board of Directors, Student Ambassadors, Circle of Advisors, and
Advisory Council to support our fundraising strategy and efforts. Responsibilities include:
 Design and implement a bi‐annual/annual fundraising event including securing
speakers, entertainment, guests, venues and materials
 Produce and distribute event‐related work plans, timelines, budgets, printed materials,
and lead all correspondence with event participants, volunteers, and other supporters
 Prepare written material for our donor stewardship program including program
updates, gift acknowledgement, and communications with prospects and donors
 Manage Teach For Canada's fundraising database to ensure that all fundraising records
are current and accurate
 Assist in other elements of fundraising as needed including proposal writing,
relationship building, and prospect research
