2. INTRODUCTION
• Telangana, as a geographical and political entity was born on June 2, 2014 as
the 29th and the youngest state in Union of India. After formation of a new
state of Telangana, the state government has come up with a lot of social
welfare schemes and policies to improve the living standards of poor people.
The Telangana government has welfare schemes running for unemployed,
youth, girls, women empowerment, pension schemes, farmers and others. •
The state of Telangana initiated so many welfare schemes to achieve
BANGAARU TELANGANA. Schemes, programmes or policies play a
crucial role in solving many socio economic problems
3. WHAT IS POLICY, MISSION AND
SCHEME
• A POLICY is what government chooses to do or not to do about a particular issue
or problem. Policy is government issue towards an issue or problem. Policy is how
government thinks about that issue. EXAMPLE: NEW EDUCATION POLICY A
MISSION is a task for achieving a target within time period. It is target oriented and
time bounded. Government schemes are named as mission in order to make sure
that the efficiency of mission maintain for longer run to achieve its objectives
.EXAMPLE: SWACHH BHARAT MISSION A SCHEME is a plan of action
involving many people or particular group of people such as weavers, farmers etc
for their development. It has no target. EXAMPLE: KALYANA LAKSHMI

• Flagship programmes of a government are those programmes which are the
main or most important and address major national concerns on health,
education, urban and rural development. These are the programmes where
government focus is maximum to achieve social objectives. EXAMPLE:

8. MISSION BHAGIRATHA
•The ambitious project will supply clean drinking
water to all households in the state through water
sourced from River Godavari and River Krishna
•The intention of the government was not to make
money out of this project, but to convey the
message to the people that the drinking water
being supplied to their homes through pipes was
absolutely safe and pure.
9. HOUSING FOR
THE POOR
• BUDGET: 22,000 Crores
• AIM: To make the city of Hyderabad a
slum-free city by providing free-of-cost
housing to the shelter-less poor in rural and
urban areas
• The scheme was announced in the
election manifesto of Telangana Rashtra
Samithi, in May, 2014
• OBJECTIVE: Provide dignity to the poor
by providing 100% subsidized

2BHK flats in Hyderabad and other urban
areas and independent houses in rural area.
10. AMMA VODI SCHEME
• Launched on 18 January 2018
• For pregnant women across the state
• ELIGIBILITY: women who give birth at government hospitals, for a
maximum of two deliveries
• OBJECTIVE: To reduce infant and maternal mortality rates in state
• SPECIAL SERVICE: A pregnant women can use free 102 service van to
visit the hospital and dropped off at no cost[Transport facility]
• FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Government provides ₹12000 in three
instalments to those woman who deliver their babies in government
hospital[₹13000 for girl child]
11. AASARA PENSION SCHEME:
• The Telangana Government introduced Aasara a new Pension scheme
enhancing the monthly pension from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1000 for the old aged,
widows, weavers, toddy tappers and AIDS patients and Rs. 500 to Rs. 1500 for
disabled persons. The TS Aasara Pension Yojana is wholly funded by the
government only. The pension amount will be directly transferred to the
Beneficiary account through the Direct bank Method (DBT). BENEFITS OF
THE SCHEME:

12. KALYANA LAKSHMI FOR SC AND ST
• Launched on 2nd October 2014
• Welfare scheme for providing financial assistance for
marriages by the Government of Telangana, a novel scheme
for all poor people in the state.
• BUDGET: ₹1450 Crores per year
• NUMBER OF BENEFICIARIES: 3,90,000
• ELIGIBILITY: A Telangana resident girl, over 18 years of
age, belonging to any community with a combined annual
income of her parents not exceeding ₹2 lakh is eligible for
the Scheme
13. CONCLUSION
• The prime agenda of the Telangana state is to
ensure welfare of people. Towards this end the
above flagship programmes have been
launched. Every scheme has its own aims and
objectives.
