Train 100,000 Indonesian mobile developers by 2020
First, we'll partner with universities to reach
computer science students in their senior year,
providing them with a semester-long curriculum
on developing high-quality Android apps.
Second, we're working to translate all of our
courses into Bahasa Indonesia to reach anyone
who’s dreamed of turning their idea for an app
into reality.
These courses are taught by expert instructors from the Google Developer Relations team and can be taken
for free from anywhere on any device. We hope that the translated content will make it easier for aspiring
developers in Indonesia to get started.
And third, we’ll hold Google Developers Study
Jams.
These are more intensive, facilitator-led study groups that also provide mentoring to all levels of developers.
We’ll run these groups across five cities—in Bandung, Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta—to
reach as many people as we can.

  • #6 Here’s what Google’s own resume would look like now in 2016 (by the way, we receive over 3 million applications a year).
  • #9 Exciting to see all the growth in Indonesia as millions of people are coming online There’s tremendous opportunity for Indonesia and we are committed to helping develop a strong and thriving community of developers who can help build world class apps and developers from Indonesia. Google is announcing a plan to help train 100,000 Indonesian mobile developers by 2020. Working with partners across Indonesia, Google will provide skills development courses at universities, online and through study groups throughout the country. These efforts will be complemented by Google’s existing efforts to support developers in their use of Google Play to potentially reach more than 1 billion people around the world.

  • #16  We have been investing in training material to help developers learn about Android. In order to be successful in Indonesia we have invested heavily in setting up an Academy which allows Indonesian to learn in person. This has driven up completion rates to near 70% compared to the lower 5% completion rate of the pure online versions. We were thrilled to note that the Academy has had over 25% female developer participation which is higher than similar events in the US. That’s very exciting. We are committed to continuing to work hard to expand these types of programs to help prepare Indonesian developers to become world-class programmers and entreprenuers. ******** help building a teaching curriculum to develop world-class programmers and engineers help upgrading computer science graduates to prepare Indonesians for digital economy and to become world-class entrepreneurs We have a global Android training program and to help ensure we meet the needs of Indonesians who prefer to learn in person. This takes completion rates from 5% to over 70%. In Indonesia people prefer to learn in person. We set up this academy to meet Indonesians needs. Total 848 completions (now know how to build apps) 25% women Local trainers: Ibnu Wardy, GDE Android, trained 148 new Android app developers in Bandung through Indonesia Android Academy
